Received a message from his wife that Dale Reed has passed away. Dale was a long-term conservative activist and a FReeper since nearly the beginning of Free Republic. He was one of the founding members of our Southern California Chapter. Dale and his wife and several members from Southern California were present at the 1998 picnic and meeting in Fresno where our activism efforts through chapters were basically born.
Dale was a good man, a patriot and great supporter of FR and our conservative activism efforts and will be greatly missed.
Prayers for his wife and family.
May his soul rest in peace.

I always enjoyed FReeping with Dale Reed. He knew his cars and was very passionate and opinionated.
When I read his posts,I thought of my friend Dale Reed

Dale Reed was a true unhinged crank in the best sense. A grumpy malcontent whose short one-sentence posts cut straight to the point.

I was trying to figure out why all the flags were at half-mast today. I think it is for Shimon Peres but, for me, it will be for Dale.
We seem to have flags at half-mast a lot under Obama. That’s why I call him “Our Half-Mast President.”
