Why is TV viewership down? (NFL)
NBC Sports ^ | September 29, 2016 | Mike Florio

Fewer people are watching the NFL on TV, and no one really knows why.

The NFL Players Association admits that the trend is an obvious concern. The league has kept quiet, likely fearful that talking about the situation would lend credence to the dynamic, possibly causing other fans who are still watching the games to say, “Maybe I should stop, too.”

The decline has become a mystery, for the media and surely for the NFL.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Maybe the NFL muckety mucks should pull an “Obama” and read about it in the newspaper or something. This is like the terrorist attacks ... no one seems to know “why” or what the motivations were/are. Sheesh. “We the People” know exactly what is going on ... with the NFL & the RADICAL ISLAMIST attacks. The NFL deserves to have their ratings go to the bottom of the tank if they’re too stupid to figure out what is going on .... and too cowardly to deal with the issue.

Leave Kapernick out for a moment and what do you have? Pay big bucks to a player(J.J. Watt/Romo) and they’re out. Can’t get a lesser player because there’s no money. They play for their 2nd contract, get the big guaranteed money, and can’t play due to a failed drug test, domestic violence, or a DUI. Someone makes a great play and it gets nullified by a bad call by the refs. Kapernick just brings the issue to a head. Watch your team play but not the MNF or ESPN games.

The world has just become the most mysterious place. Mysterious “intentional explosives” (not bombs) placed by mysterious individuals (not terrorists) with mysterious motives, mysterious youths and teens attacking people for mysterious reasons, mysterious ratings declines for the NFL.

It’s just a mystery, I tell you.

Ever try Contacting the NFL? Well, from my search just now, you can’t simply send them an e-mail telling them what you think. I guess they are like a Congressman under fire, who shuts down his constituents ability to send a comment too! Oh well, I hope they go under, because they are nothing but a few rich white people hearding a bunch of $hit for brains Blacks, paying them thousands of times what they are really worth and passing the bill along to a bunch of fat white guys who can’r find anything more worthwhile to do with their “leisure time.”

Kaperwhatever says he is oppressed.

I certainly do not want to contribute to the organization oppressing him.

Freedom for Kaperwhatever!

I believe the league and owners, are betting that it will pass, and they will suffer no long term damage.

I would like to find a list of offending players, endorsement payments, tv sponsors, etc.

Find other sports and interests. Make the NFL, players, advertisers, and endorsers pay a price, no matter how long it takes.

All I can say is my Father would be very disappointed in me if I continued to watch a game where the participents disrespected the American Flag. I know he would not. RIP Dad.

Because the primary demographic of the typical NFL player is either ghetto trash, trailer trash, or just plain old fashioned white trash. Add to that the players that spit on the very country that has made them rich beyond their wildest dreams, players that are so stupid they'd likely be on welfare in the ghetto, add that to the above and this is one former fan that will never watch the NFL again.

The days of Tom Landry and Roger Staubach are gone forever. Good riddance.

Uh huh. And newspapers don’t understand why readership is at all-time lows. And Target doesn’t understand why its sales are down. And Hollywood doesn’t understand why nobody is going to their movies.

And there are plenty of people who don't understand the popularity of one Donald Trump. This article actually makes me hopeful that there really is a true disconnect between the media and large swaths of the populace. That means millions are simply not listening to the media and will vote accordingly.

Since obama, who likes to “tranform” everything, has friended Kapernick (bad for tv)..makes me wonder if they are now trying to destroy cable tv?

Big Dem Comcast, you mean.

Ergo, for the Comcast areas, they know damn well who has continued to watch, and who has stopped watching.

And what advertising demos are most impacted.
