Dozens of protesters took their fight for racial equality in policing to the heart of Charlotte's power structure on Monday, demanding the resignations of the mayor, police chief, and lawmakers in the wake of the police slaying of a black man.
Residents and activists, many of whom have participated in street demonstrations every day since the death of Keith Scott on Tuesday, spoke at a packed city council meeting of frustrations with racial discrimination in the North Carolina city of about 792,800 residents.
Many speakers said city officials were responsible for ensuring police officers treat everyone fairly, and called on Mayor Jennifer Roberts, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Oikuce Chief Kerr Putney, and members of the city council to resign.
"If you can't do your job, let's find someone who can," said Darcel Chandler, an attorney.
"We can't choose who we want the laws to apply to."

Well, if the mayor and chief don’t have enough cajones to step out there and say “Listen, that guy had a gun in his hand, and he refused to drop it (resisted arrest), and it was a legal shoot. Plus now we know he was oxygen stealing POS that you lionized, just like Michael Brown. So no, we are not stepping down.”
What’s funny about complaints of racial discrimination in Charlotte is the police chief is black, the police officer who shot the thug is black as is the majority of the city’s police force.
Now blacks are racist against themselves? Got it.
Shouldn’t there be calls for the mayor of Chicago to step down?
They constantly move the goalposts.
The heroes/martyrs of the the BLM movement seem exclusively to be thugs with long rap sheets.

Mayor Jennifer Roberts is a liberal Democrat who served a long time on the city council. THEY voted her in! They should wait until the next election just like everyone else has to. Rioters, looters, vandals and disrupters of the peace shouldn’t get their way just because they think they are justified in their demands. Giving into them will only further encourage racial strife in other cities. Laws are for ALL the people.
