The union behind the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has stepped into the breech and announced their endorsement for Donald Trump for president.
Today, the National Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Council, the official union representing 5,000 federal immigration officers and law enforcement support staff made their first-ever endorsement of any candidate for any elected office. ICE officers are responsible for interior enforcement of immigration laws within the United States. The President of the National ICE Council, Chris Crane, issued the following statement on the union’s endorsement of Donald J. Trump:
“The men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are the last line of defense for American communities. Our 5,000 officers, underfunded and undermanned, are responsible for enforcing immigration laws in a nation of 320 million people. Our officers come into daily contact with many of the most dangerous people in the world – cartel members, gang members, weapons traffickers, murder suspects, drug dealers, suspects of violent assault – yet ICE Officers are unable to arrest or are forced to release many of the most dangerous back into U.S. communities due to unscrupulous political agendas and corrupt leaders.

These ICE employees are doing the right thing and endorsing Trump.
It will be interesting to see what retaliation is taken against them.
Nice move on their part, but there is no reason for Federal workers to be unionized.
They can call themselves an Association, that would be much better.
Woe, that is a big one.
Hopefully this group of federal employees has enough information to hold it against Obama and Hillary to protect themselves.
They’re not only brave but they know once Trump is in office, Obamatards across the border policies are moot. Plus, I doubt they will be punished for this as O-tard has less than 2 months to go. He cant fire them all.
My thought too. Fedgov is already the biggest union in the world. Not to mention that it's employees aren't legally responsible for anything they do.
I think they are banking on Trump winning and thus avoiding any retaliation. Revenge takes time, especially bureaucratic revenge. If Hillary wins though....look out ICE!

Not a fan of unions per se but many of the points raised here are important. How many ICE employees are there overall, I wonder? Is this the main union?

Sorry but I am going to disagree with the consensus here. Public employees are supposed to be neutral and non-partisan. I am not going to celebrate one sector of the federal government for endorsing the candidate I prefer when pretty much every other government employee at all levels of government is a hard core dem supporter. These people are supposed to work for all of us, fair and square. This crap makes my blood boil.
