Besieged Globalists Ponder What Went Wrong
The New York Times ^

Posted on 09/26/2016 12:11:41 PM PDT by Trump_vs_Evil_Witch

Until recently, you didn’t hear people being referred to as “globalist” very often. But in a time of rising nationalism, those who see the upside of globalism have become a distinct — and often embattled — tribe.

Hillary didn’t miss it. This book is THE story about how Hillary quickly grasped what a free internet would mean VERY early. She made aggressive moves that that government should be able to regulate content, but was shot down.

This book by Poe is a must read. It was written like 15 years ago so the stories are dated, but very worth reading.

I think the two words mean the exact same thing, but one of the words almost nobody can disagree with, whereas the other word has been blamed for some of the worst things in history. Seems wise to go with the former.

The reason Trump could enter the race, and end run around the establishment was because of the internet. It isn’t just important, it utterly saved our freedom.

Its not as fun, but it’s even more critical than guns. In fact, one wonders why the founders didn’t make an Amendment before the 2nd, regarding free speech and journalism.... Oh, wait....

Those guys were smart. Free speech is the first freedom for a reason. Used well it can even allow you avoid the blunt force violence implied by the 2nd.

When the people are ready a leader will appear. If not Mr Trump, who? You perhaps.

I think the people have been ready at least since W's two big amnesty pushes in 2006 and 2007. No leader appeared then.

It takes quite a leader to go against practically the entire political establishment (both parties) and appeal directly to the people successfully. Such leaders are few and far between.

I'm afraid the leaders don't always arrive when the people are ready.

Ill be checking out that one you put up too. This one is in the Clinton white house era and centers on how internet journalists exposed Clinton and Monica, and other things.

The with was lighting fast to grasp what an unregulated net meant and tried hard to grasp it. Its worth knowing who Lady Macbeth is inside. She despises the ability to end run them.

Don't agree. Reagan end ran the establishment in 1980 well before there was an internet. Having the right leader at the right time is the most important thing.

The opposition also can, and does, use the internet.

Sure they do. Plenty of leaders out there. We just need an educated populace that knows we're being sold into serfdom by an elite, intermarried group of families that have been working on this for over 200 years. WE are on to them now and we have plenty of people willing to take the slings and arrows that leadership entails.

Mr Trump is a hero and he's the hero we need - but he's not the only one. Have some faith in us. We're AMERICANS!

Precisely!

I would not discount your theory as there is nothing impossible with prayer.

However I would like to propose a parallel idea. Remember the "try it, you'll like it" cereal campaign? When it comes to globalism, we tried it, we DON'T like it.

Sure they do. Plenty of leaders out there.

Plenty of would be leaders, just as there are plenty coaches around ready to win the Super Bowl, or the NCAA national championship in football or basketball, or the World Series, etc,. etc.

Plenty of leaders with the will, be few with the will and the way. Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo both tried to make the immigration issue a winner in 2008, but neither was well known and dynamic enough to pull it off.

And I'd say Trump absolutely is the only one who could have done what he has done the past 15 or so months.

The right leaders to change a nation's direction are few and far between.

If you're looking for leaders to come out of the existing Republican establishment you are looking in the WRONG place. The Republican party has been controlled for decades. Ronald Reagan was an outlier that slipped through on them and they plugged that hole with Poppa Bush (CIA honcho, elite family, NWO/globalist.)

Your leaders, when they arise, will be coming from the common people. Like Mr Trump. Like yourself.

But you can fool some of the people some of the time, and most of the people most of the time, and usually that’s all you need to do. Their problem arose from fooling themselves. Quite simply, they were wrong, and were also the last to know.

The globalists aren’t besieged yet. I long for the day when they are hiding in the wilderness feeding their children worms.

I think it might have worked but for their open door immigration policy.

Yep. It's hard to hide Somali refugees slaughtering lambs in front of horrified children in a Maryland state park and then roasting them on a spit, as happened last year
