WaPo: It's beyond debate that Donald Trump is unfit to be president
Washington Post ^ | September 25, 2016 | WaPoo Editorial Board

Posted on 09/26/2016 6:58:14 AM PDT by Zakeet

DEMOCRAT HILLARY CLINTON and Republican Donald Trump will debate on national television for the first time Monday night, and the stakes could not be higher. The presidency and, by extension, the country's future - maybe the world's - could hinge on what they say and how they say it.

Or so we have been told - in breathless pre-event speculation about everything from whether the moderator, NBC's Lester Holt, will intervene to correct a candidate who strays from the truth, to whether one candidate or the other will be able to goad his or her opponent into a campaign-altering gaffe before an audience expected to reach 100 million.

Permit us to dissent from this conventional wisdom, vigorously. Yes, Monday night's clash, and two additional debates to follow, will add drama to the election, and a bit more data to the massive pile of it already available to voters. In a fundamental sense, however, there is nothing much at stake, or shouldn't be, because there is not much more to learn: Mr. Trump has amply demonstrated his unworthiness to occupy the Oval Office. It's beyond his capacity in the upcoming 90-minute question-and-answer sessions to reverse or even substantially modify that conclusion.

“It’s ALL about who spends the most money on the campaign.”

Old school thinking. Trump has changed the dynamic of political campaigning this election cycle unlike anything we’ve seen in our lifetimes.

Oh, need to add that Jeb Bush disagrees.

Trump has spent a lifetime of proving himself a capable businessman, CEO, and manager of an international multi level management team. He knows a number of world leaders. You may not like what he says, but he references with truth on about any given subject.

Trump loves this nation. He wants to restore it to the greatness of decades past. He is a man who respects people of all races and gender.

Hillary has spent a lifetime riding coattails, proving herself an incompetent. When she has been gifted with public office she has either done nothing, or really screwed up. Her Benghazi failure to execute was bad enough, but her advocacy of supporting terrorist organizations could easily top that debacle. When it comes to truth, Hillary never made friends with it. You can’t trust a word coming out of her mouth.

Hillary loathes the United States, thinks it isn’t Leftist enough. She thinks it needs to depart more from it’s once greatness. She hates our Constitution and would love to replace it with a lot of Leftist clap trap. She is a race baiting, gender tapping worthless piece of excrement.

Trump is very supportive of his employees. He may have to let them go from time to time, but he doesn’t rag on them. He is good to women, and often places them in critical positions.

Hillary has allowed some of her employees to die, rather than give them adequate protection or pull them out. She sells out employees and friends if it serves her purposes. She will trash them at the drop of a hat, often blaming them for her criminality. As for women, Hillary has hired people to intimidate the ones her husband dated, raped, and assaulted during their marriage. As for her treatment of children, those women were their mothers. They were also daughters, sisters, wives, aunts...

Trump as a CEO, human being, and decent man, is a very qualified man to be president.

Hillary Clinton as a failure at everything, is essentially a terrible human being, and unfit to hold any public office.

She should have been in prison ten times over.

People used to say Palin was unfit to be president. My response was always the same: Compared to whom? Biden? Obama? McCain?

My hubby summed it up for me during that election: Palin was the only one of the four with Executive experience. IOWs, she was the CEO of Alaska.

Re: polling....

I've wondered what the end result of the MSM cheerleading for Clinton will be. Figure that there will be three outcomes:

They're right, and Clinton wins in a close one. MSM will be OK in this case.

They're wrong, and Trump wins in a close one. IMO, MSM will blame bigoted, bitter clingers, maybe yell "Racism" or "We Wuz Robbed" a few times, and then move on. No damage done.

Or - and I think this is MOST likely - they're *really* wrong. Trump wins, going away. Clinton carries IL, CA, and a couple of other states, and loses the electoral vote by 300 or so.

Will the media receive the backlash for being so duplicitous?

I’d love for Trump to come out first tonight and go directly to Hillary’s podium!

This election it seems my leftist friends (and the “conservative” press) are very heavily into the “beyond debate” mode. From their lofty perches of moral superiority, they are more demeaning than ever toward anyone who disagrees, choosing simply to ignore reason in favor of hysterical feelings. More than ever they are invoking the name of Christ as a part of their condemnation of the unwashed.

Or is it just me?

I’m waiting to see if the true Hillary shows up at the start of the debate. The appearance of someone who is fifty pounds lighter, looks twenty years younger, has no tiny mole on her upper lip and has a different nose will not suffice.

“To this day many aren’t sure whether Obama is a natural born American.”

I am certain he is NOT a natural born citizen unless his father is someone other than the man whom he claims as father, comments to the contrary notwithstanding. It is fairly well known by now that he has claimed in the past to have been born in Kenya so he would have to be proven to have lied about that to be a natural born citizen. Personally I very much doubt that he is even a citizen period.

They say Trump has a high IQ(156!)...it’s just that it’s so “in the trend” to think that business people, particularly megabuilders like Trump are narrow and stupid! He is college educated, his grades weren’t bad! I don’t care if he doesn’t know the name of every vice dictator in the third world...can he learn quick and quickly grasp the issues of dealing with such people?...I think he can and at 70 years old I see no evidence his instincts have become blunted!

I have to wonder if they’ve considered trying to use a body double for the debates, looking as you have described! One way to tell....if Bill Clinton seems unusually affectionate publically with her and rubs his hands all on her back, kissing her cheek and pressing into her...then you’ll know she’s the fake one!

When Trump is in the White House, I certainly hope that the Washington Post is assigned a seat in the very LAST row in the room-—next to the Podunk High School Newspaper stringer. I hope their ‘correspondent’ never gets to ask a question.

OR-—They are assigned a seat in the very front row-—and they are NEVER CALLED on...
during the next 8 years with Donald Trump Sr in the Oval office-—
then with Donald Trump Jr in the Oval office for 8 years..
then with Eric Trump in the Oval office for 8 years.....
then with Ivanka Trump in the Oval office for 8 years...

Payback is a bitch........

Meanwhile one of the persons the elites consider educated and intelligent is Lester Holt the moderator and anchor of NBC News. Lester does not have a bachelor’s degree having dropped out of Sacramento State during his junior year.

However, he is bright and a good news reader. Liberals would never give such deference to a conservative in the same position.

I foresee Hillary saying this ...

“We cannot allow the national security of our great nation to fall into the hands of a dangerous lunatic. Therefore, I am withdrawing from the race.”

It’s beyond debate that the Washington Post is unfit to be called a newspaper.
