After a slew of complaints online from parents who shop at target, Target is making a change.
According to several tweets from an official Twitter account, Target is removing the recently added “tiny carts” from 72 of its stores this week where they were being tested. The change comes after a slew of complaints from parents....

Supermarkets already have “candy-free” aisles to address parents’ candy complaint.
It would be very nice to send the kids off to get this, this, and this, but they don’t need a cart for that.
Raising my hand here, I guess you (on the thread whose kids would never) should rip up my FR membership. It seems you all have angel behaved children who are properly whipped into shape, but I recently allowed my two rug rats to use those little carts and that was a hellish experience in the grocery store.
OF COURSE kids want to run in empty aisles with them, don’t understand how close they are behind you and nip your Achilles’ tendon, they would like to see what happens when they crash them together, etc. it was a nightmare, though nothing happened to any other shoppers. My having to scold and remind constantly was bad enough! Never again though.
So shoot me, I have real kids, and I don’t keep them in line by beating them. And those little carts suck!

I’m with you on that one but as to the tiny carts, I think they are freakin’ adorable. My kids are all grown so they aren’t something I would use but I certainly would have when they were little. Our local Kroger store has them and I love watching the little kids shopping with their carts. Sooo cute.

wall mart and target arte stores that I avoid because of how the employs are treated and because the price - verses quality issue. years ago wall mart was great but today most of it is just hype and getting by on a reputation of fair pricing that was made over 20 years ago when the store was controlled by Sam Walton. if I am try to shop and get the best prices I go to Big Lots then dollar tree and the 99 cent store. if it is a grocery item then it WinCo. after all this I might go to wall mart if I cant get what I want and Target is just a no.
I don’t go to Walmart or Target. We have a huge new Kroger that has everything I need. They avoided the bathroom issue when they built the store: 2 single room unisex bathrooms that I avoid like the plague. I was desperate one day and both bathrooms were being used, so I waited. A man came out and as bad as I hated to go in behind a strange man, I did. There was piss all over the toilet and he didn’t flush. He was a nicely dressed older man, not a younger slob. I should have chased him down and told him to go back in there and flush the toilet and clean the piss off the toilet seat. I HATE GOING INTO A UNISEX BATHROOM.
Oh, how about them folk that push their dang cart up against the meat/produce counter blocking four or five feet of the display?
Especially annoying when I’ve zoned in on a picture perfect pack o’ pork chops..!

Yep-my previous post was about how much my younger kids love the little carts at Cub Foods and our local small town grocery store. The pride on my three year old daughter’s face as she shops for our family makes my heart melt :)
Then to top it off, how many times have the obtuse people then acted all indignant because they were in your way and you violated their personal space or something? They must be Waltons because apparently, the Walmart belongs to them.

Went to the grocery store yesterday. Listened to a mother “negotiating” with her daughter, probably age 4 or so, about the type of cereal they were going to buy. Could not believe the exchange-obviously the mother was not the adult in their relationship. My kids always had an opinion on most things - when asked - but that did not translate to a vote and were not allowed to go to the grocery store until they were teenagers.
My children were also a handful when they were preschoolers. They grew up, and I am quite proud of them now, but there were a few difficult years.
I am also amazed by all the freepers who have angelic, perfectly behaved children.

Aw, Target is just trying to attract children for its perv constituents, people.

I’ve been in several stores that had them, and never noticed they were a problem.
The problem I have when shopping is that my teenagers put things in the cart while I’m not looking, and I don’t realize until I’m paying!
