OVER IN OHIO? Clinton Campaign Pulling Plug On Battleground State?
American Mirror ^ | 09/25/16 | Kyle Olson

Is Hillary Clinton’s campaign pulling the plug on its hopes to win the batlleground state of battleground states: Ohio?

That’s what CNN’s Jeff Zeleny wondered this morning as he noted Clinton has not been in the state since her epic Cleveland coughing fit on Labor Day.

“So long Ohio? It’s been 20 days Hillary Clinton has stepped foot into this class battleground state, and she’s not expected to visit it again in the month of September,” Zeleny said.

But it’s not because the campaign believes she has it sewn up, but rather the opposite.

“That is a nod to the political reality there facing her campaign,” Zeleny said.

“She is struggling mightily among white voters, and the campaign has not yet written it off. And they will push back and say ‘we’re still spending money there,’ etc., but Ohio, the mother of all battleground states is not in her wheel house anymore.

“Our poll of polls — combination of polls — shows that Trump is leading 43% to 38%,” Zeleny said.

He added she “does not need” Ohio and that is why it is “slipping down on the priority list.”

Exactly. The wheels have got to be falling off across the board. That 911 video was a World Trade Center event for her campaign. I would still love to see a poll from NY and NJ. Imagine Trump taking those two AND VA, the Carolina’s, Ohio, Florida. The question at 8 PM on Election Day will be “Does Hillary have a path to 270?”

That much spin makes me dizzy.

If she doesn’t “need” Ohio then she’s the first presidential candidate in about one hundred and fifty years who’s in that lucky position. The State is America writ small. There is a huge cultural gap between “Ohio” in the northern counties and “Ah-hi-ya” in the south. We even have our own bit of masturbatory Massachusetts leftism in Oberlin. If she’s lost Ohio then she’s lost a lot of the rest of America.

Why not?

GOPers did it in past elections.

Heaven knows you don’t hear democrats wasting time peddling goofy “its a trap” theories when that happened.

Seems like our side has 2 positions:

If you are doing well, it has to be a trick.

If you are doing poorly, then it’s because you don’t want to win.

Her real internals must be telling her Trump is up by 10+. She knows and he knows it, too.

It isn’t worth it to continue to campaign in a state your opponent has locked down.

Our first clue the race is not as close as the polls make it appear to be.

With reports of R +4 ballot requests from FL, this election is over.

Clinton is phoning it in advance of the debate. She knows she’s going to lose but wants to keep embarrassment of the impending loss to a minimum.

Sad but great news!

A lie.

Hillary’s claim is ridiculous and if she now loses PA as well as FL, its lights out for her campaign.

What happens now at the debate tonight has just been rendered moot.

Trump will be our next President. Start booking those tickets to the inauguration in January.

I disagree.

Hillary is looking at the first debate as an indicator. If Hillary and Lester Holt are able to tag team to make Trump look bad she'll stick around.

This is the unicorn case of CNN reporting facts and then connecting the dots with straight lines.

All the clues are there that the Hillary campaign internal polling has crashed. Running to the late-night shows because she’s losing millenials. Calling Trump a racist because she’s losing minorities. Pulling out of Ohio. Running ads in Illinois. Reminding women she’s the candidate with the vagina. She has no message at all except “the other guy sucks.”

I don’t know where she thinks her firewall is, but probably Virginia with Potatoface Kaine on the ticket, and Carpetbag McAwful desperately stuffing the voter rolls. That’s a lot of political capital to spend on one state.

No one pulls out of a major state if they still think they’re competitive.

No, wait. That was exactly what Mitt did four years ago and McCain did fours before.

At that point, the election was over.

I expected Hillary to phone it in but not this soon.

Her national numbers must be really be in the tank to force her to do it.

Timmy can’t help her hold VA.

Lurch picked John Edwards to hold NC. Didn’t work.

All I can say is to a dead campaign walking - “good luck.”

After what happened to Mitt, we feel your pain.

I know exactly how I felt in 2012. Its not fun attending a wake.

Reminds me of 1992 when Bush was campaigning in Montana. That’s when I knew it was over.

Yup.

Back in June, when she dropped the ball on the Orlando nightclub shooting, I said, "Trump just won the presidency". The rest is simple inevitability.

Over the past few weeks, there have been a number of Dem mouthpieces looking to assign blame. If that's not throwing in the towel, I dunno what is.

Without trying to be too much of a concern troll, the only bit that worries me is the media. Hillary could de-evolve into a flatulating, twitching, face-down-on-the-floor mess at the debates tonight, and the media would declare her "An Unmitigated Success", and praise her for "Powering through, because she's such a strong, decisive woman". I wonder if she just shows up and doesn't make a fool of herself, the cheering from the press section will drown out rational analysis and put her back into the race.

Tough for Trump to take on Democrats, the GOP(e), AND the media. So far, so good, though.

Yup. I've got the dubious honor of living in a state that's getting carpet bombed by her ads.

With all seriousness, a disinterested observer would only be able to glean two things from the commercials:

1. Hillary is a woman, and is concerned about women.

2. Donald Trump is the devil incarnate.

Smart move by Clinton. Even zombies like McCain and Romney could compete in Ohio. Throw in Trump’s appeal to the white working class, and the state was never going to be in play.

She needs to find some other path to victory, and to do that, she’ll need Michigan and Wisconsin, what were supposed to be two easy Dem states, but are now sliding to the right with Ohio, for the same reason that Ohio slid. Watch those states...she’ll be spending a lot of time there. She can’t let either one pop up with a Trump win.

Hillary can say any number of things but she is saddled by people’s unwillingness to trust her.

There is the fact is that she is coming from a position of weakness.

Moreover, a beta female has zero chance against an alpha male.

Add it all up, the debate will move few votes tonight.

The first debate didn’t help Mitt and the debate tonight won’t help Hillary.

As it stands, election outcome is baked in stone.
