Intelligence Specialist 2nd Class Janaye Ervin is currently facing potential administrative action for failing to show respect to America’s national symbols, Military.com reports.

According to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickman spokesman Bill Doughty, Ervin would not stand for the national anthem while in full uniform Sept. 19.

“On September 19,2016, while in uniform, I made the conscious decision to not stand for the Star Spangled Banner because I feel like a hypocrite, singing about “land of the free” when, I know that only applies to some Americans,” Ervin wrote in a Facebook post. “I will gladly stand again, when ALL AMERICANS are afforded the same freedom. The Navy has decided to punish me for defending the Constitution

In my Navy days during a previous life, we had a 3rd Class who played this kind of game. Funny thing was he was, for the most part, a pretty likeable guy.

If this kind of disrespect had been his only rebellion, he could likely have ended with a general discharge, not under honorable circumstances. He ended up with one or two too many "statements." He finally was awarded his dishonorable discharge. He's my age, so I s'pect that harmed him for, lo, these last 44 years.

The beauty of this for her is, she can blame everyone but herself for her problems. These days, no one need take personal responsibility.

Anyone still wonder what the military would do if ordered to fire on US citizens?

My opinion is, many would fire on US civilians, with no questions asked. My question is, what would be the consequences for those who refused?

“The Navy has decided to punish me for defending the Constitution”

Geez, we had a guy get an Article 15 for getting a severe sunburn on leave. Couldn’t carry his ruck.

Can’t imagine what this one does when they blow retreat.

Meanwhile ...

The Miami Marlins are mourning the death of their star pitcher Jose Fernandez in a boating accident over the weekend. He defected to the U.S. from Cuba on a boat, at the age of 15 ... after three other unsuccessful attempts to get here.

He became a U.S. citizen last year, and never hesitated to show a level of respect for his new country and its flag that this quasi-humanoid malcontent never understood:

Easy fix.
Discharged her less than honorable.
Let her deal with it the rest of her life.

...they do allow every moron...

I don't buy that. My son is 11 years in the Navy. I have yet to meet one of his compatriots, officer or enlisted, who isn't as bright as anyone I knew in my Navy days and brighter than most.

The dim bulb in this story had something earned and valuable. She chose to flush it to be part of the masses. She should get exactly what she invited.

Today at church we watched a short video on children, women, and men working as true slaves in India. Being beaten by their “owners” it was heart breaking. These morons need to get a life. Self-centered bunch of babies. It was Freedom Sunday. There are an extimated 45 million people worldwide being held captive in some form or another. The Christian group International Justice Mission is trying to help. These American blacks are coddled brats.

Court martial, dishonorable discharge.

Not going to happen in todays military, even Micah Xavier Johnson, the Dallas police shooter, got an honorable discharge after sexually harassing another soldier and stealing her underwear.

Why “investigate”? Just throw her America-hating ass out of the Navy. She has no business being there.

What a charming Negress.

On another subject, someone in Hollywood, I forget who, said he wouldn’t get married until everyone could get married. He was making a statement about homosexual marriage. He wanted us all to be “equal” regarding marriage.

We can play these games all night long, as far as “equality” is concerned. There are always going to be situations in which some people are not equal to others. Which means that this girl can never stand and salute, per her own criteria.

Discharge her.

Very sobering thought. I also now rethink my opinion of this.

This has become beyond absurd.

All Americans have the same freedom.

And guess what? Because of affirmative action and other policies, some Americans have a little more “freedom” than others.

< Court martial, dishonorable discharge.

Agreed. One things soldiers forget is that once they’re in the military they are owned by the military. The same constitutional protections they had living as a citizen dont apply now that they are in the military. They are soldiers and part of a military unit whose very duty is to protect the U.S. from both enemies both foreign and domestic. Pledging allegiance is but just one of their easiest duties. Taking a knee is just disrespectful during the national anthem. None of it has to do with taking a stand in these situaion. They bring dishonor to themselves and demoralize their units with such behavior. A court martial with a dishonorable discharge is in order.
