The first article I read was that he was legally in the US, not that he was a naturalized citizen.
I wonder on what basis he was legally in the US?

I guessed he might be Turkish when I saw the picture and they called him “Hispanic.” Spanish shooter is illogical in a mall and he does look Turkish at least as much as he looks Spanish. I spent my Childhood in Turkiye and folks like that are more apt to look Turkish to me especially when the first assumption pretty much has to be Moslem. Turkish makes more sense than, say, Arab because he did not intend to die or get caught. Turks are much less apt to be suicidal. He apparently planted the rifle on an earlier trip and he fired off a magazine, then he left. An Arab would have kept shooting to kill as many as possible knowing he was probably going to be a martyr. I don’t think this guy was ready to be a martyr but he wanted to do his bit for Allah.

About 6 months after his tweet that is alleged to support Hillary, he tweeted that Hillary and Eva Braun (yes, THAT Eva Braun) should be on the $10 bill.

And in another, he commented on a letter to the editor supportive of Obama and the Democrat agenda: "Sounds like communism to me.”
But, a friend posted a comment to him that "[Cetin] was an odd character", apparently because of his contradictory behavior.
My point is that I wouldn't presume he is a Hillary supporter, based on one isolated tweet.
An addenda: I've seen one claim that he is a "registered Republican". But, Washington's voter registration doesn't indicate that -- it only says he has voted in 3 past elections in each of 2014, 2015, and 2016.

You provided a link and a comment that the tweet was likely sarcasm based on the remarks of a woman with no credibility.
The woman described in the report said the shooter was being sarcastic just as you affirmed. But the report also quoted her that SHE DOES NOT KNOW THE SHOOTER AT ALL.
Therefore, you are boosting a woman who has no credibility and who appears as a Hillary supporter because she is labeling the shooter with right-wing descriptives.
