CNN Money ^ | September 23, 2016 | Frank Pallotta

Through the first two weeks of the regular season, the league's premiere game, NBC's "Sunday Night Football," is down 12% in viewership compared to last year; ESPN's big game, "Monday Night Football," is also down 12%; and CBS' first "Thursday Night Football" game fell a whopping 26%, according to Nielsen data.

Boycott the NFL. I’m the opposite of you. When I hear they’re done with their BS, I’ll watch again, maybe. I haven’t watched one game. Irritating BLM BS isn’t what I want to see during my relax time.
This problem could be fixed. If people would boycott these SOB’s.

For decades, sports was a blissful and last refuge from politics. When that ended, it’s no surprise people have tuned out.

Pretty nice weather in our neck of the woods. Who the hell wants to stay inside and watch football.

Plus you add into the National Anthem crap...who wants it?

I agree, and some of the Bradyless games have been among the few exceptions where ratings are up over last year. The interest in how the Patriots would do without him drew some additional fan interest.

That's exactly what I was thinking. This site probably has a lot of folks who were already at this point, even before the Kaepernick idiocy.

Very true, but I think Kaepernick put the nails in the coffin. People like to think that watching professional football and baseball is a “patriotic pastime. This has been forever thrown in the trash bin by these spoiled fools. They might as well just skip the National Anthem at this point... it just reminds everyone what a bunch of spoiled black racist idiots and white apologist liberal morons are putting on the show. Every time a five minute string of beer, pickup and erectile dysfunction pills comes on the bad taste comes back.

Yep, and the same for movies and the music industry, though they got on the PC bandwagon long before any sports organizations. I won't even watch a movie starring some actors, or listen to the music of some performers.

I see the Cowboys games were IIRC the only games in the green. Here are two reasons why the public doesn’t perceive the Cowboys as America haters:

A friend emailed this from Face book. (I know you can put anything on FB but it does go along with the second reason)

#1
“Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, called a meeting with all of his Coaches, Players and field staff and firmly told them:

‘You are all simply paid performers on a stage and that field is my stage! You will stand, with your hand over your heart and with respect, when our Country’s National Anthem is being played or you will no longer be a Dallas Cowboy, a Coach for the Dallas Cowboys or have any association with the Dallas Cowboy Organization! I will immediately fire you, no matter who you are!’

Say what you will about Jerry Jones but here, I’m damn proud of what he has said and demanded of his Players, Coaches and field staff for our Country!”

#2
The Cowboys wanted to wear decals on their helmets honoring the 5 murdered Dallas cops. Naturally, bad-hell said no. Should have done it anyway and paid the fine. Link to that story below.

Whoops my mistake. Green Bay game also in the green but not by nearly as much as the Dallas games.

I think you’re right and all the owners should have done precisely what Jerry Jones did, but PCness has infested too many of the franchises.

And I think these interesting QB situations with Brady and Romo attracted a few additional viewers. A Patriots games was an exception to the ratings decline, and I watched a Cowboys game to see how Dak Prescott would perform.

It has everything to do with the BLM supporting BS. It is the only reason I quit watching.

“If you see any more ...”

You are a sports addict. Just turn off the TV. Feel the loss.

Now choose elsewhere. Just go. Do. Be happy doing.

The drive by media will never admit that maybe Americans just don’t want to watch America-haters hating on America.

Cold? Stuck in the house?

Cold is the best time to run. Just run. The body heat offsets the cold. Sweat less running. Awesome.

Florida is nice but the heat is bad for exercise. Same as big city smog. And running kills depression.

NFL is fake exercise. NFL is wannabe exercise watching others do. Just do. No more fake substitute.

Yeah, here is a hilarious quote from this sycophantic scribbling:

Experts and observers say there's good news for the league, the networks and everyone depending on them, though: the league's viewership is likely still healthy. It's just that even healthy people catch a cold now and again.

These folks have never heard of JC Penney, or Target, or Quentin Tarantino? All three said/did/instituted stupidity and suffered financially.

JC did it with their outright homosexual ad campaign, Target with their pro-molester-in-the-bathroom policy and QT with his "cops are murderers" diatribe. QT's next movie was a relative flop, and the other two suffered in a buying boycott.

But oh, how there were attempts to find OTHER REASONS for the problem.

So it is unsurprising to see the media trying to find OTHER REASONS for the NFL to be in the toilet.
