LA Police Union: Police Commission Wants Cops To Run From Armed Suspects

The Los Angeles Police Commission wants LAPD police officers to run away when a suspect confronts them with a weapon, warns the Los Angeles Police Protective League, the labor union of the city’s police officers.

The organization posted a blog post critical of the commission’s recent decision to find that fault lay upon an LAPD officer who used deadly force when a female suspect, Norma Guzman, came at him and his partner swinging a large knife.

“The key facts in this case are not in dispute. A female suspect, armed with an 8 to 9-inch knife, charged at officers, repeatedly ignored commands to stop, and was recorded yelling ‘shoot me’ as she swung her knife from side to side,” the LAPPL Board of Directors wrote in a blog post.

When I was in my youth, I liked Star Chamber too, but then I grew up and focused on everything I could on our U.S. Constitution, Articles of Confederation etc. Oligarchies, and Totalitarianism are bad for us. Neither Parties care about our Constitutional Republic anymore, because they are corrupt socialists, communists, fascists and now to include islamists. We have become as every European country. No-go zones - just like Europe.

Soon - if Clinton is elected - we will have no-go zones wherever there are a concentration of muslims, hispanics, or blacks; the police will be officially ordered to let them be, no matter what law they break.

Trump 2016!

No. It’s a warning to the communities that they risk increased crime if they are not willing to get along with cops.

He wants his men shot in the back? How is that an improvement? Show a gun or knife and the popo all run away! That is as good as restricting all policing to traffic control and school crossing guard.

I’ve got no problem with that. . . as long as a very tall, razor-wired, electrical fence is put up around those areas and ALL traffic in and out is stopped.

Let them kill each other. . .

Not even traffic control because if some flees in a vehicle, they are usually told not to pursue.

I can’t imagine why, with all this PC crap, anyone would want to become a Police Office in these large, liberal-infested cities.

The answer: $59,717 is the starting base salary for [Los Angeles] Police Officer I upon entering the academy. The officer will earn this rate until graduation from the Police Academy. Upon completion of the academy and assignment to the field as a probationary Police Officer I, the officer shall be paid $62,974.

Years ago I had to make business trips to Buenes Aires, Argentina. While there, I noticed that there was a complete lack of "street crime". Citizens were out walking around after dark all over the city. When I inquired why nobody was afraid to walk out after dark, my Argentine contacts told me that any street criminals caught simply "disappeared". Nobody knew where they went or what happened to them. They simply "disappeared". This fact was widely known...hence no street crime. I wonder if this would work as effectively somewhere else?

I went to vegas for a bachelor party with 12 cops.

I know a few were crazy to begin with. Dont know if the rest became crazy from the job.

Breaking the law came kind of easy to them.

this is going back 30 years but guys who had nothing had townhouses and bars and jacuzzis a year later.

I’m sure you’ve seen Serpico.

It’s a TOUGH job sometimes but there’s TREMENDOUS graft and theft and greed.
