That’s The New York Times’s executive editor, Dean Baquet, on Donald J. Trump.
Mr. Baquet says he cannot recall a time the paper has called out a presidential candidate — or anyone else — using the word “lie” in a Times headline.
But that’s what The Times did after Mr. Trump — who spent years fueling the provably false notion that Barack Obama was born outside the United States — renounced his earlier assertions and then, taking it further, falsely stated that the Clinton campaign actually started the birther rumors.

Just as a footnote - the NYTimes has just printed an endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President, based on her “experience, intellect, and courage.”

Seriously? They really said that? Here is a person who "can't recall" hundreds of things she was instructed in, "doesn't know" the answer to simple questions, and so on. That is someone with "intellect"? Really? Geez, the loony bins must be stocked with genius-level inmates by that standard.
"Experience" doing what? Running the Arkansas educational system into the ground? Tainting an entire law firm with scandal? Doing a stupid publicity stunt with the "reset button" and couldn't even get an accurate Russian translation of what it meant? Having our Ambassador and four others murdered on her watch and then lying to the grieving families and the nation at large afterwards as to why it happened? That kind of "experience" we can do without.

Yes, they really said that. The last time I looked, it was a lead editorial featured on their online site, NYTimes.com. I took a peak at the editorial itself, but it was very very long, and from what I saw, all full of paeans to her accomplishments. I guess they realize they have a lot of justifying and convincing to do.
I wonder who will have the patience to read through that voluminous editorial. And then be convinced. Idiots.
