I am talking about terrorists during attack, not on for a stroll to the kebab cart.
Put it this way: Moslems are more than willing to die. Unlike anyone else. And much more likely to die in the process than most other mass-murderers.
I don't thing those are reports, but interpretations of the terrible quality photos. But, you can see a dark strap across his chest starting at his right shoulder. Very possible he had the rifle across his back. Or, as I mentioned in post #401 (see link there) he could have had a "takedown" rifle under his shirt and pants.
I'm leaning toward a short rifle on his back. At 9:30 pm, not too many people in the mall and most aren't looking at his back. If he had it in a black cloth case, it would be essentially invisible. Just my opinion.
I hope and pray they find this guy to be illegal alien!!!! They are going to be screaming about gun control if he IS illegal they LOSE the argument !!!!!
I am not ruling anything out - so far they have said there was a teen victim, an older lady, and a man. That is all we know about the victims.
However, if there were ANY indication of terrorism at this point you can be assured that the FBI would have taken over the investigation and they would be in front of the cameras. The fact that they said in the press conference that a local Lt. from the Skagit County Incident Team is running the investigation tells us quite a bit if we read between the lines.
The man running the investigation said he entered without the rifle and came back. See my post above yours and the linked article.
That is not speculation and one would think the person who said that probably knows the most about the incident at this point?
Could be anything - Hispanic, caucasion, arabic..
But I would guess Serbian/Chechnian. East European Muslim.
There are reports he called out a woman’s name multiple times before he began shooting. First thought is he was there to kill a ex girlfriend. But, with the pic out there it would seem that one of the girls friends or family would have identified him by now.
Unless of course the girls name was Allah.
Would love to know what is on his t shirt.
If they did not notify next of kin, then that is very ,very odd. The victims ID is right there, in their purse or wallet.There is a shooter loose, and the first thing you want to rule out is angry boyfriend or spouse. Which makes this more suspect.
Being willing to die is not the same as planning for a suicide attack. In recent years we have seen highly varied tactics with the predominant method being that they prepare to get away in order to attack again at another time in a different manner. Muslims are not robots...they don’t have a set program. With the exception of the choice of weaponry, this particular attack bears much resemblance to other Islamic small scale attacks.
He bears a significant resemblance to the Tsarnaev brothers.
I'm not thinking this is terrorism. I have a hunch it was a crime of passion with one targeted victim, an ex-girlfriend, and 4 innocent bystanders in the wrong place, wrong time.
The shooter has probably blown his brains out by now in the woods somewhere.
I just arrived at this thread and went straight to the last post to see if he had been caught yet so the scenario I presented has likely been thought up by others as well.

That's entirely possible. With the timeline, the photos of him coming in apparently without a rifle seem to be about 10 minutes or more before the shooting started. That's plenty of time to come in and make sure that his intended target was there before going back out to get the rifle.
The reports of a second suspect come from early witness reports on the scanner that said that he'd been seen before the shooting talking to a balding man in his 50's near the AMC theater. No word on how that panned out. Could be nothing. Could be everything.
I think we way over-think this stuff. There was a jihadi knife attack at a mall just last weekend, jihadi bombings in New Jersey and New York last weekend. This radicalized Islamic kid with family roots back somewhere in Islamic lands uses a method he knows and is familiar with - maybe he has help, maybe not - he walks in executes his attack quickly before an alarm can be raised, hitting the first place he comes to. He shoots his ammo, drops the weapon and gets out fast, well before any police could get close to responding, runs off in his pre-planned escape route...maybe with help and maybe not...and disappears. He becomes a hero in his world.
