The explosion of racial violence in Charlotte, N.C. has led to a gun buying spree by locals worried about their safety.
At Hyatt Guns, one of the nation's largest, staff arrived Thursday morning after the second night of riots and encountered a line of buyers.
"First off, our prayers are with law enforcement this morning. People are afraid. They see lunacy in the streets being perpetrated by criminals and they are gearing up to protect themselves," Justin Anderson, director of marketing for Hyatt Guns told Secrets.

Arm yourselves for the coming race war!
More likely a group of rioters would find a white victim who turns out to be armed and a few get plugged.
Reminds one of The Matrix gun store.
Details on your recommendations for home defense? What ammo? Pump or semi-auto? Sling or not? Barrel length, magazine capacity? Manufacturer? Optics if any? Biometric safe, keypad safe, or a nice rack/corner in the bedroom?
Note: I have a Remington 870 with a comparatively cheap red dot sight that marks the center of impact at 10 yards, no sling, six 2 3/4" reduced recoil 00 buckshot, with the last round a magnum to make sure I notice it's my last, stored in a quick-open keypad safe that I practice opening in the dark, with 10 extra (magnum) rounds strapped to the stock.
A gun and ammunition will not protect you, except in the most general way (i.e., just having it visible will deter many criminals). You need to expend ammunition on the range preferably with someone who is already experienced so you hopefully will not learn bad habits. You also have to spend some time in thought. Mental preparation is as essential as practice. Without it you will most likely make bad decisions that could well end up doing you as much if not more damage than a few random barbarians.
+1
I got my Mossberg 500 in silver, so as to make it a little easier to see in case I should suddenly need it during the nighttime.
I also keep a shell in the chamber in case time is short.
I also keep it near the bed, barrel end down on the carpet to keep the barrel clean.
Back before I had my canoe incident I had a KSG 14 shot 12 gauge supplemented by a 25 shot bandolier that I wore around my neck and under my shoulder loaded with 00 buckshot.Sadly it did not float..
Springfield M1a, just sayin.
Nice dream..............
Dang it! A lot of that going around here on FR.
Huh, What ?
Just racking a round has Stopped
“Stupid!”
I know,I’ve seen it!
“I know,Ive seen it!”
I’ve experienced it. Something I’m not real proud of today but many years ago in my youth I went down to the beach with some of my buddies to help them assist some campers in discarding their excess beer. About the time we grabbed ahold of an ice chest we heard a very distinct sound. Never paid much attention to pump action shotguns before that but they have a highly recognizable sound to them. We left in a hurry sans beer. My one and only quest to the beach for beer was a learning experience.
IMHO anyone over the age of 18 that doesn’t at “”the very least”” own a shotgun with a few boxes of #4 buckshot for defense by now are just victims waiting in line.
...... this criminal crap will NEVER get better over time. It evolves and recedes with each new administration.
A firearm is no less a “safety tool” than a smoke detector, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, seat belt, insurance, alarm system, spare tire for your vehicle etc.. you as a sensible citizen have no desire to ever NEED or USE any of the above to keep you and yours safe and secure .
A firearm is no different. ......GUN UP AMERICA !
