Cruz supporters alarmed by possible Trump endorsement
Washington Examiner ^ | September 22, 2016 | By DAVID M. DRUCKER

Ted Cruz supporters were alarmed Wednesday at suggestions that he was on the verge of endorsing Donald Trump.

They worry that the Texas senator could squander his brand as a fighter — and goodwill earned among many through his stubborn refusal to back his party's nominee — if he caves with nothing to show for it.

Cruz has held out on the grounds that Trump is insufficiently conservative, and because Trump attacked his wife and father down the stretch of their heated battle for the Republican nomination.

The senator even took the extraordinary step of declining to endorse Trump during a televised, prime time speech delivered from the stage of the New York businessman's own nominating convention.

It could be a case of too little, too late. I don’t think Cruz’s endorsement would make any difference in the election at this point. As a former and ardent supporter of Cruz’s presidential candidacy, it’s my opinion that he did possibly irreperable harm to his credibility by his shameful behavior at the convention. Many of his former supporters haven’t forgiven him for that, and may never.

“If he doesn’t he can say good by to his Senate seat.”

That’s the way I see it too. I voted for Cruz in the Texas primary. But, he lost. So, now I’m supporting Trump. And, if Cruz doesn’t do the same he can color my vote gone when he runs for the senate again.

i’ll be surprised if TT decides to endorse. He’s the textbook example of a malignant narcissist. He should endorse because his political future pretty much depends on it, but that matters little when narcissism of the depth that TT exhibits is at issue.

The only reason I’d want him to endorse is this is going to be a damn close election. Notwithstanding the wishful thinking of some, the rats are very evil and very willing to steal an election. So, perhaps the olive branch should be extended.

Politics is a rotten business. Especially when you think that the endorsement of some uber putz might be necessary.

Cruz supporters are alarmed at the possibility of Cruz endorsing Trump,
but are not alarmed at the possibility of Hillary becoming President?

Bill Kristol was wavering in his hatred of Trump last night on Brit Hume, he must have a sense that his career is/has tanked.

So far his word is not worth a damn. He would never make an officer in the military as his word is worthless, and; that tells me no to his ever being Pres.

What sort of “supporter” is it who would prefer their candidate welsh on a pledge to support the Party’s nominee and be a lying weasel, than to step up, honor his pledge, and at least have THAT scrap of honor to stand on if he ever seeks office again. He now has NONE.

Amanda Carpenter (Cruz’s side dish), Steve Deace (nut job from Iowa), and Jeff Roe (Cruz operative and known Bushie) are the folks quoted in the article.

If that is the extent of ‘his supporters’, then Teddy is toast

There are still ‘Cruz Supporters’? Do they have a blog?

I was a Cruz, not a Trump supporter until Trump became the nominee. Began to realize what a normal human being DJT is. A rich, successful one, but his remarks are not contrived, he dissects our problems and offers solutions.

On the Cruz issue; I believe he is weighing a Hilary victory (which will be his opportunity to run in 2020) vs. a Trump victory which means he has to get on board NOW to secure his future in Government.

He is calculating;)

I don’t care what Cruz does or doesn’t do any more.

Yes, I think it is too late for his endorsement now, along with those RINOs who were featured in the Hillary ad. I would have liked to have seen Cruz do the right thing when it counted (the RNC). The ship has sailed now, and it took Cruz' reputation with it.

You obviously know zero about his track record in the senate. Or, like a lib, what you think you know is wrong.

Still, even though I understand Cruz being furious about attacks against family members (Trump plays rough) I wish he would endorse him already.

The alternative is Drooling Evil.

There is no place for this intractability from personal pique during this crucial election campaign.

We need every possible Trump vote to send a message to Congress that they need to cooperate with a Trump Presidency. Just winning may be great, but it will not wake up many, like a real landslide will.

Think about it, and stop the carping over what is past. Yes, Cruz has allowed his emotions & or other factors to make him hold back keeping a pledge. But if he now recants, let's all move forward to the end that America--as we have known her--be restored!!

Hey Ted, remember that whole "pledge" thingy from last year?

Doesn't really matter now. The time to do it was on stage at the convention Ted. But you disgraced yourself and damaged the party's chances of defeating Hillary.

Just retire. Move to Corpus and buy a boat or something.

Signed;
A former supporter.

He better get behind him and endorse him or he is finished politically.

And the other Republicans in the House and in the Senate had better get that message too.
