Conrad James, 23, says he’s the one who organized the overnight protest in Charlotte on Interstate 85
He says when he heard about the police shooting of Keith Scott, he drove to Raleigh to Charlotte late Tuesday night.
James says when he got there, thousands of angry protesters were also in attendance.
James then urged protesters to move to Interstate 85, which was nearby.
James serves as the Executive Director for the non-profit Life Ultra-Violet.

The protesters who repeatedly interrupted Donald Trump’s rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday night organized themselves on Facebook the week prior, one of the protesters told CNN.
Living Ultra Violet put out a press release on Saturday describing the protests, also saying it was a coordinated effort.
“The #LoveNotHate demonstration was a joint grassroots effort by a diverse group of individuals and organizations from across North Carolina, including local Anonymous chapters, NC students, Black Lives Matter activists, Living Ultra-Violet organizers, members of Showing Up for Racial Justice, and other future-driven organizations,” the release said.

AIKEN, SC - A group of concerned citizens staged a highly organized and effective dual-protest during the Donald Trump rally at the Convocation Hall in Aiken, SC
The #LoveNotHate and #MakeAmericaLoveAgain demonstration was a joint grassroots effort by a diverse group of individuals and organizations from across South Carolina, including local Go Yellow, Anonymous chapters, USC-Aiken students, Black Lives Matter activists, Living Ultra-Violet organizers, members of Showing Up for Racial Justice, the People’s Solidarity Society, and other future-driven organizations.
Our #MakeAmericaLoveAgain campaign displays the growing revulsion against Trump’s hate-filled rhetoric visible across all communities; Muslim, Black, White, Hispanic, we are all suffering from the hateful words spoken by Donald Trump and his supporters which causes violent racial backlash across the US.
The demonstration drew a bright moral line making it clear that our communities are a group that supports love, equality, and empathy. Our fellow voters and comrades won’t support a candidate who promotes violence, bigotry, and most of all, hatred.
The outside protest started at University of South Carolina at Aiken, and then flooded to the Convocation hall with at the most 62 protesters , where the groups convened inside.
The inside protest was effective with a total of 7 interruptions. Trump was unnerved by the protests yet again, by the same organizers that have staged the protests across the Carolinas (Raleigh, The USS YORKTOWN, and Aiken)
It is time to let politicians know that our generation and local communities across the nation will not support candidates of any governmental capacity that stoke the fires of racism or hatred for their own political gain.

This was clearly visible after the Rally with Trump supporters shouting derogatory comments at the peaceful protesters in their designated area.
