With Trump Regaining NC Lead, Hillary Unexpectedly Postpones Local Fundraiser "Without Reason" <tr>

If there was a time Hillary needed to make a public appearance in the key battleground state of North Carolina to drum up voter support, it was today, if for no other reason than a just released Elon University poll finding Trump now has a modest 44% advantage among likely voters in the Tar Heel State, with 43% going to Clinton.

According to the poll, most voters felt Trump would be better for rich people, white people and men, while most believe Clinton would be better for poor people, women and minorities. “This election is so tight right now, that small swings of a few points should be expected between now and November,” said Jason Husser, assistant professor of political science at Elon and director of the Elon University Poll. “North Carolina has been extremely important over the last several election cycles with very tight election outcomes. These numbers suggest that will continue to be the case, and both campaigns would do well to continue to focus on the Old North State.”

It's not just the closeness of the poll that makes NC so critical; it's also Trump's recent rebound, which as shown in the following chart from Real Clear Politics has him taking the lead for the first time since late June.

She might have been leading in the polls at this time if the Secret Service Agents hadn’t thrown her in that van like a fat side of beef. God Bless the Secret Service.

I had never heard of it until 3years ago and now it’s an “in” school.

Nice.

Or if she leaves the stage for 10+ minutes to “use the restroom”. Nobody will buy that now.

How much of an issue is Gary Johnson going to be in some of these close state races?

I can see Dems who can’t stand Hillary! voting for him and Never-Trumpers who can’t stand Trump also voting for him.

I know his polling numbers are low right now, but is this going to end up hurting Trump in the long run?

Anyone care to share an opinion on this?

Makes sense if you’re a liberal.

Whom did they poll and why the assumption which is akin to asking why a man beats his wife.

This is how they think.

Wake, Durham, Mecklenburg and Buncombe. That is the lib stronghold of NC.

Clinton is not taking NC. The turnout in 2012 was large and I think this year will be stronger.

Clinton has no appeal whatsoever to anyone with half a synapse firing. If you do not get paid from the foundation, you sit at home.

She could be getting another stem cell treatment in order to endure the debates.

The moderators are in the tank for Hillary
Hillary donors are SELECTING THE QUESTIONS
The sycophant media has already written Trump’s obituary.
(ie Kelly megan is positively Hillary giddy)

There is no downside for her.

She needs to stay in bed for the next six days — fully sedated and medicated — to even have a reasonable chance to make it through the debate standing.

“””How much of an issue is Gary Johnson going to be in some of these close state races?”””

I have listened to the Gary Johnson radio ads and he might appeal to Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton supporters as much as he would appeal to a Trump supporter.

Bottom line for me is that Gary Johnson and Jill Stein will not affect the election.

Another bottom line is that Trump is increasing in popularity and Clinton is decreasing in popularity as we head into the final 50 days of the campaign. Not a good place for Hillary to find herself.

How did North Carolina go from electing Jesse Helms to Barack Obama in less than a decade?

Probably the result of an in-migration of Northeast liberals who retired to the hills of NC. Similar problem in Florida.

Glad to hear it. Johnson is running a lot of radio ads in Wisconsin. VERY upbeat and he sounds quite likeable. I haven’t researched him at all. No TV ads that I’ve seen.

The WI Senate race between Johnson and Feingold is too close for comfort, IMHO.

Johnson might peel off some Bernie-Bot votes in Madistan and Millwaukeestan. IF Wisconsin goes to Trump, it won’t be by a lot.

I’m sorry! SOME of us ARE trying up here, LOL!

She doesn’t dare appear in public when she is sick. Then more of her lies would be exposed that she’s fit as a fiddle and feels great. She must be really sick.

“If she is unable to take the stage at the debate next week, the Democrats will have to do something. Knowing them, it may well make things worse.”

Hillary is resting and will be the comeback girl come the upcoming Sept 24th debate, count on it. The MSM will go into raptures about her stamina.
