So, because NYC gives tax breaks to big projects, that means that Trump didn’t make billions of dollars even though he’s worth billions of dollars? These people are so stupid.

Since then, Mr. Trump has reaped at least $885 million in tax breaks, grants and other subsidies for luxury apartments, hotels and office buildings in New York, according to city tax, housing and finance records. The subsidies helped him lower his own costs and sell apartments at higher prices because of their reduced taxes.

I highly doubt that Trump is the only New York developer to rake in millions in tax breaks. Or that his were any differently awarded.

Every city, state, municipality, whatever, gives big tax breaks to encourage or enable big projects. Up in SC, the BMW plant got and gets big tax breaks. Some people complain but they are a huge employer, and facilitate many many other businesses and suppliers. It’s so stupid to complain about a big long term tax break for a project that arguably turned the tables for RE development in NYC. And that tax break is a pittance compared to taxes in general in NY.

Trump took advantage of tax breaks, LEGAL ones, and somehow he’s a bad man for it.

This is why I have previously said: “A Democrat could slaughter and eat a live baby on the White House steps, and the ‘news’ media would tell us the baby had it coming and wonder out loud about her excellent choice of barbeque sauce.

A Republican could sit quietly in church and the ‘news’ media would call for his impeachment for loitering.”
