My father used to travel regularly to Japan during the 50's/60's/70's on business.He used to joke that when doing a currency exchange it would have been "easier to weigh it than count it".The Yen was all but worthless back then.Looks like the two currencies have been on different trajectories in recent years.
I laugh at the mexo’s currency. Maybe if they weren’t a loser country whose population invaded us....
Except that one “New” peso is worth 1000 “Old” pesos.
Fly down and look around Mexico is booming.
We just get their lazy and shiftless, the ones that would be a drain on the economy and of course the Mexican drugs and Army Special Forces trained to cause disruptions and riots.
Pesos were fixed at 12.5 per US dollar for many years that ended in the late ‘70s, I think.

My aunt is a real estate agent in Fairfax County Virginia (suburbs of DC). She said since early August her company has been contacted by multiple individuals (she stated some were well known enough that I would recognize their names if she said who) working on the Hillary campaign to inquire about purchasing homes in the DC area. She said a couple have gone as far as attending open houses and one even put down a deposit and made a tentative offer. She said in the last week, more than one has backed out of scheduled tours and told her they might get back to her at a later date and the one who put down the deposit and made the tentative offer called in a panic to see if he could back out without losing his shirt.

I've done a bit of traveling in my day and have visited some "off the beaten path" places.However,I've never set foot in a country/region/area (except sections of certain American cities) where Spanish is the predominant language.
And I never will
I'll never own a car made in Mexico (more and more are),or a TV (some of the larger ones are),I don't buy Dos Equis...well,I guess you get the idea.
And yes,feel free to call me a bigot if you wish.
Seems like, all around, naming your currency “Peso” is not a recipe for wealth creation.
(They could rename it to something with a bit more clout. I believe “Deutschmark” is currently free for the taking.)

Rather than saying “Mexican Peso Drops,” why don’t they say “Dollar Surges”?
