When our son turned 6, my husband and I bought him a puppet theater and a chest of dress-up clothes because he liked to put on plays. We filled the chest with 20 items from Goodwill, mostly grown-man attire: ties, button-down shirts, a gray pageboy cap and a suit vest.

But we didn’t want his or his castmates’ creative output to be curtailed by a lack of costume choices, so we also included high heels, a pink straw hat, a dazzling fairy skirt and a sparkly green halter dress.

He was thrilled with these presents. He put on the sparkly green dress right away. In a sense, he never really took it off.

For a while, he wore the dress only when we were at home, and only when we were alone. He would change back into shorts and a T-shirt if we were running errands or had people coming over.

Then we would come home or our guests would leave, and he would change back to the sparkly green dress, asking me to tie the halter behind his neck and the sash around his waist.

Eventually he stopped changing out of it. He wore it to the grocery store and when he had friends over. He wore it to the park and the lake. He wore shorts for camp and trunks for swimming, but otherwise he was mostly in the dress.

My husband and I were never of the opinion that girls should not wear pants or climb trees or get dirty, or that boys should not have long hair or play with dolls or like pink, so the dress did not cause us undue alarm or worry. But school was about to start, and we found ourselves at a crossroads.

And the Father never had the inclination to tell explain to the son that he was really a boy and dressing as girl was not a good idea? That is the hardest part for me to believe.

Frankly, in these cases, I strongly suspect the Mom is covertly (or overtly) encouraging this behavior. Or maybe even both parents want a Trans child to get kudos from their liberal friends. Whatever the cause, it is setting these kids up for a lifetime of misery.

Psychotic Liberal/Democrat/Progressive secular perversion on parade. Child abuse at the least! Disgusting putrid DEPLORABLE abdication of a parental responsibility and basic common sense!

Just one of too many examples of a Nation gone to rot thanks to a rejection of Traditional American Values!

Don’t be surprised if he eventually kills himself.

What if the little boy told his mother and father that he was a horse? Would they put him in a stable and feed him oats?

“He put on the sparkly green dress right away.”

He wanted to match daddy.

Laurie Frankel, who lives in Seattle, is the author of the forthcoming novel “This Is How It Always Is,” which was inspired in part by the story she writes about here.

Seattle explains a lot.

Notice it says he would wait for the guests to leave before dressing in girl items. He inherently knows it is not normal.

Mom & dad need to get this kid some counseling.

This trash is about to make my head explode. Here in Pittsburgh, we just had a school district declare that students must you the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex, and there is a transgender high school senior now making headlines because “she” is being bullied. I read the story last night and was on the verge of a stroke.

I am 39 years old and there are some days when I feel like I’ve lived too long. My children are ages 9 and 4 months and I would be fearful for their future except I keep reminding myself that God is in charge.

It is interesting that the father is barely in the story other than as a seemingly passive observer of the whole situation.

With these sicko parents, if he identified as a lizard, they would feed him flies.

In about 15 years there are going to be a lot of pissed-off young men who are going to be in the news for what their “parents” did to them.

What kind of idiot questions a child as to whether he “feels like” a boy or a girl?

Read if you can stomach it.

I can't stomach child abuse. Much less proud child abuse.

My husband, who is a MAN as opposed to some limp-wristed, effeminate mangina, would crap a brick if one of our kids did this.

If they had birds, the birds would fly backwards;if they had goldfish, the goldfish would drown.

But if your child falls down and breaks his arm, it has to be investigated as child abuse with the burden of proof on the parents to prove their innocence.

Encouraging your son to be a trannie is child abuse of the worst kind because they end up on drugs, mutilation, and possibly suicide.

Child abuse by mentally ill degenerate “parents” who should be incarcerated for their ignorance. The poor messed-up kid.
