Homeowner kills apparent home invasion suspect in Gwinnett County

Gwinnett County police are combing part of a neighborhood after they said a homeowner shot and killed someone breaking into their house.
Officers responded to the house in the 3000 block of Spring Drive after the shooting, which they said happened just before 4 a.m. Friday.
They said preliminary investigation indicates the homeowner shot someone who was breaking in to the house. The apparent home invasion suspect was dead on the scene, police said.
They said multiple people were in the house at the time. They said it is unclear whether the person who was protecting their home is a male or female.
They are processing the scene.
We have a reporter and photographer at the scene gathering information about what happened.

*And no, I don't know for sure the race of the invaders, but the lack of description is almost surely an indication that they're black.

The story has a happy ending though.
Well as of this morning we’re all 33% less likely to get robbed by this crew.
Watched a report on this on Fox 5 this AM....Nice neighborhood in Gwinnett....
The funny detail about the story, the woman was sleeping upstairs with her boyfriend/husband and she grabbed her gun , went downstairs and engaged in a gun battle with three armed suspects....she killed one and the other two ran.....
The guy stayed upstairs.....Jeez...someone pull his man-card....
1/3rd of a happy ending.
Maybe she didn't trust him with a gun. Maybe she knows she's a lot better shot and practices monthly, or maybe as you said, he's just a wimp.
Although highly suspected, we still don’t know if the perps were black.

A man kicked in the front door of the woman’s home in unincorporated Gwinnett County, police said.
A total of at least three men came through the front door.
The woman started shooting.
No charges are expected against the homeowner and police are still working to determine the identity of the other two suspects,” (Cpl) Washington said.

As a side note, there are several large hispanic communities in Gwinnett Co., and they have had problems with home invasions in the past. Seems “some” residents work off the books for cash and don’t trust banks. So, some of the home invasions target these people.
Do not know if this is what happened here, but there have been several articles about it in the past.

Possibly the state of confusion.
Some Parts of Atlanta are to be avoided. We travel through there a couple of times a year. We avoid staying there if possible.
The report did state it was her weapon....
But still....I vote for wimp......
