A University of Houston grad student was robbed at gunpoint just outside his off-campus apartment by a man he mistook as a student.
Jerry Ford Jr. has fought for social justice around Houston as one of the leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement. But Wednesday night, he became a victim.
"The guy was standing right here just seemed like he was hanging out," Ford said. "I told him wassup. He asked me did I have a key to get in. I told him yeah I'm about to go upstairs."

This concerns me. We have a family friend who is a freshman girl at U. of Houston, and probably weighs 100 pounds soaking wet. I know she isn’t foolish. I hope she is safe.

U of H is more of a commuter campus, it still doesn’t mean it is safe but fewer students are there at night.

Got my history degree from there ...back in the day. It’s a captured university EXTREME H-1B student body-MSA takeover with a Hindu chancellor who knows how to get the dough rolling in. The only whites going there are dumbass leftists.

I bet they have some type of self defense courses on campus that could be helpful to her. MY kids are 28 and 30 married with their own children and I still worry about them all the time. I always remind them to pay attention when they are out and stay of those darn phones.
Somebody from our area in MO just got murdered AT A CANCER CENTER north of Chicago. She was just sitting outside on a bench and got whacked on the head!

U of Houston main campus is located in an unsafe area. I received my Masters there in the nineties. It’s location was unsafe them.
I hear ya. It didn’t start out that way back when one would feel safe going to that part of town. My kids both graduated at Hoffeinz (sp) Pavillon back in the early 90’s but I sure wouldn’t want to go over there now.
