Hillary Clinton may not recover from her pneumonia until late October
The Washington Post's The Fix ^ | September 13, 2016 | Chris Cillizza

I am not a doctor -- as many readers have helpfully pointed out to me over the past 72 hours. So, I reached out to a real doctor to get some answers about Hillary Clinton's pneumonia diagnosis and what it might mean for her presidential campaign. Dr. Steven Simpson, the medical director of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at The University of Kansas Hospital, is that real doctor. Our conversation, conducted via email and edited only for grammar and flow, is below.

FIX: Hillary Clinton’s campaign said she was ”overheated” at an event Sunday and she appeared to be somewhat unsteady on her feet – at least briefly. Are symptoms like this consistent with a diagnosis of pneumonia, which apparently Clinton had received 48 hours earlier?

Simpson: These symptoms and signs are absolutely consistent with a diagnosis of pneumonia 48 hours previously. “Overheated” may well mean that she had a fever, although it is difficult to say. Pneumonia is commonly associated with intravascular volume depletion, or more precisely, causes intravascular volume depletion, which the lay public may call dehydration. Often, the inflammation associated with pneumonia causes poor appetite and poor thirst, while the fever causes increased evaporative losses....

Au contraire. She’s “powering through” and will be back on the campaign trail on Thursday. What a woman!

I predict a relapse, with doctor's orders for bed rest and therefore no debate...

This is, actually, interesting in a very unexpected way. It is Hillary's mendacity that opens her infirmity to a level of mockery it would never be allowed to reach otherwise. Any normal candidate gets sick, it's "oh, too bad, I hope she gets better" even from her political opposition. But when the reaction is a furious denial and lie after lie after obvious and ridiculous lie, the focus is on this pattern of behavior that has typified her public persona, her career, her entire life. In short, she has forfeited sympathy simply by being what she really is, and the people around her have attracted scorn and ridicule simply for being what they really are.

That's pretty rough justice. But it has been earned in detail and will be meted out in detail. Seven weeks now. I think they're stuck with her. And there's a justice there too.

Trump will win in a landslide.

No one in the right mind is going to vote for a very sick woman - moreover a woman literally at death’s door - to become President.

You heard it here first.

What about all the females who feel sorry for poor ol’sickly Hillary, weeping for her as they vote for her?

I think Trump should agree to allow Hillary to do the debates while laying on a stretcher with a full ER staff at her side.

Or at least that cement post.

I have had pneumonia, felt like a new person with no limitations in less than two weeks after starting Aureomycin. Best buddy age 57 got over a bought in June. Shot of penicillin the butt and a week of pills he was like new in 10 days. I guess there are exceptions to the rule, especially when you are drunkard with Parkinsons.

I wonder if they will try to put in Biden or someone as a substitute for her in the debates. I would assume Trump would NOT oblige in that case. I guess he could volunteer Gingrich or something. What a weird election year.

I tend to agree with you. I think this is something different that she is hiding from the public.

Exactly. The aspiration thing is because she isn’t swallowing correctly. The coughing fits begin after that. I don’t wish ill on her, but she is a sick woman. Confusion...disoriented...all signs of TBI and dementia...

Funny thing is, she looked about as good as she ever looks at the forum Friday.
And she was mean as a sidewinder with a case of shingles, even with Mat Liar’s help.

How con-veeen-ee-yant.

In that case it is no longer convenient for the real world to even consider choosing her as POTUS.

Only a Clinton would think they shouldn’t even have to run for office.

I saw last night where her people said that she will re-enter the campaign trail by the end of next week....fully recovered.

So, go ask a thousand people over the age of sixty....after they had their pneumonia....just how quick they came back. No one comes back at that age within ten days....it just doesn’t happen.

No, it’s NOT pneumonia....it never was pneumonia....and don’t be shocked if it occurs again in three weeks.

The only way that this all ends is if she goes off into a seizure while in the middle of a debate, and Trump just walks off the stage....saying he can’t debate somebody that sick.

I recall that in the Soviet Union, ordinary classical music on the radio would abruptly be replaced with dirge-like music and everyone would start asking each other who fell backward into the path of a bullet at rest.

She is suffering from a rare condition known as DAS (Debate Avoidance Syndrome).

To be quite frank, she is done. Wheel in Joe Biden, this candidate has entered the twilight zone and cannot possibly win, she can’t even campaign.

I know we’re expecting a zombie apocalypse but a zombie president? Some might say a second one — just not gonna happen. Biden will also lose but at least he can probably campaign and debate.

The problem being there are alot of people not in their “right mind.” Reading some raving lib sites, some commenters said they didn’t believe she was ill, and even if she was they’d still vote for her. And even if she died they’d vote for her because anything else is a vote for Trump.”

I’d like to think some Libs might just get a little bit tired of being defrauded. Look at the scale of the conspiracy going on to prop her up - all aids, handlers, politicians, movie people, and of course her electronic in-kind-campaign contribution - the MSM. This is like the Potemkin villages of the Soviet era and our MSM is now state controlled!
