US intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden called on President Barack Obama to pardon him, saying in comments published Tuesday it had been morally "necessary" to shine a light on mass surveillance.

The former intelligence contractor has spent three years in exile in Russia after initiating the largest data leaks in US history, fuelling a firestorm over the issue of mass surveillance.

"If not for these disclosures, if not for these revelations, we would be worse off," he told Britain's Guardian newspaper in a video-link interview from Moscow on Monday.

Well Ed, if you do get a pardon, be sure to read it very carefully. Democratic lawyers tend to phrase things so as to include hidden meanings.

He’d be better off appealing to Trump. No way Obama is going to pardon someone who embarrassed him, that’s a cardinal sin to a narcissist.

Hey, it could happen. Marc Rich got a pardon and there was nothing shady about that deal.

Was there?

The real demands are being made by Assange. He desperately wants a US pardon. It is far more likely that he has the documentation that Obama really fears. Either he gets his pardon or IMHO Monday September 26, 2016 will be a very memorable day.

A legal pardon is not the same thing as a bullet or cement overshoe pardon. Important differences to know.

Now this is interesting. We have Hitlery that could very well be guilty of many of the same things Ed is. Will there ever by a serious investigation into all her shenanigans?

What’s worse, she’s running for the highest office in the land and no one cares that she’s a lifetime career criminal partnered with a sexual pervert.

So let’s look at Snowden, I think he should stand trial to see what sticks and what legal precedents may happen.

But just how can this administration try Snowden and not even seriously investigate Hitlery?

Trump should bring them both equally to justice.

The mistake is believing that they have opposing agendas.

I don't know about Snowden, but Obama LOVES the surveillance police state.

If the pardon was signed in a coal mine.

He’s homesick. Remember Thomas Reed? Defected to East Germany. When he wanted to come home he mysteriously died.

Yes, a BLM assassin of police has a better chance of getting a pardon.
