Republican insiders ready to overhaul the GOP after the election or something

The scapegoat for defeat in 2012 was opposition to immigration reform. Sounds like the scapegoat for defeat this year will be conservative media and advocacy groups. Isn’t it interesting how Beltway Republicans’ least favorite elements of the party are perpetually to blame for its failures instead of, say, the persistent lack of a compelling GOP middle-class agenda.

What they really want to overhaul here is their own base. The problem for the party this year in the primaries, glaringly exposed by Trump, is that the business-class Republicanism favored by the GOP leadership has only a small constituency among the rank and file. The base is a mishmash of nationalists/reactionaries, movement conservatives, and the great mass of less ideological married whites who lean Republican for more bottom-line reasons. The problem for the party leadership is that they want to reduce their base to the last group but can’t win without the support of the first two. There are simply too many ideologues. The math isn’t there. So they need to somehow re-engineer the ideologues to become less ideological. How do you do that? They … don’t really know, apart from some throat-clearing about populist conservative outlets behaving more responsibly.

They're all expecting a Hillary victory. In fact, they're counting on it!

I'm so looking forward to their disappointment! They'll be dragged kicking and screaming from oligarchy back to republican government!

The ‘conceit’ of the article isn’t wrong but...

“Less ideological married whites who lean Republican for more bottom-line reasons” are the ones who are paying for the welfare that the RINO’s donors depend on for their sales, and the ones losing pay because of uncontrolled immigration.
Their donor-voter conflict is what has the RINOs in a bind.

These people aren’t in position to do anything. They and their globalist agenda have been repudiated by the Republican voters this election year. If the GOP wants to remain viable it will be because it becomes a nationalist centered party. The globalists can go back to the Democrats or form their own worthless political party.

Did you read the whole piece? It’s so blatantly and miserably off target that I don’t know where to begin.

This is why the “target” is the internet. Rino’s and Democrat’s both deplore conservatives and their ideas. Simple solution, give the internet to the UN or something like that. Why isn’t congress fighting to keep the internet free...Oh yeah, Paul Ryan.
Also, congress did nothing when the IRS was targeting conservatives. That is because the GOP hates conservatives.

The old RINO guard can choose: on the bus or off the bus.

In either case, they're no longer driving.

I keep getting literature over Donald Trump’s name looking for campaign money. Researching it, I find that it is the party seeking money. So, into the circular file they go.

I went on line to find the Trump fund raiser and sent them some dough.

If Trump wins, he is going to have a tough road because not only will he be fighting the dems, he will be fighting the entrenched GOPe on all aspects of any programs he tries to change or put forth. BTW, has anyone heard a breathe from old turkey throat lately in the Senate about Obama bypassing the Senate? Crickets.

I know, I know! They should, rename their group appropriately. They can call it “The Democratic Party”...

There are just not enough millionaires to win elections, you elitist dummies. Without Middle Class support, neither party can win. The Democrats cheat to pad their numbers on Election Day. The Republicans are too lazy to object. They will never win again with that philosophy.

It IS going to be a tough road. One that he can’t travel down without our help.

Look at McCain’s primary to see how much more we have to do.

So, we’re going to have to work twice as hard for the next several years. A Trump victory in November will only be the beginning.

I wish that was the case, but people just don’t seem to care. Look at the latest election with McCain and Ryan....I was so hoping those two would be voted out.

The scapegoat for defeat in 2012 was opposition to immigration reform.
*************************************

Refusal to enforce the immigration laws was in fact the reason for the defeat in 2012. And 2008.

Immigration reform is abandoning the rule of law and surrendering the country to fraudulently documented foreigners and the citizens understand that.
That is why the citizens have fought tooth and nail to stop it every time they try to shove it down our throats.

Those people should be looking for something else....a job...

Trump will overhaul the GOP...and it will be from the private sector... Paul Manafort should come in with his family's business....

Paul's family owns a demolition company...
