Last year Professors at the University of California were urged not to use a number of ‘offensive’ phrases, such as describing America as a ‘melting pot’ or the ‘land of opportunity’.

‘There is only one race, the human race’ and ‘I believe the most qualified person should get the job,’ are also soundbites academics are not allowed to say, in the eyes of administrators.

Unreal, truly, truly unreal. Or is the more proper phrase surreal?

I don’t change anything I say do to PC coaching. Instead, I just tell them that political correctness is but one tool of communist tyrants. They generally do not continue the conversation.

I’m in favor of this prohibition, but only because it will improve a young person’s discourse.

Sorry, greetings associated with the racist South will be deemed microaggressions as well.

Nope. Them is MACRO, not MICRO!

In the interest of diversity and inclusion, I use the Spanish rule in these cases. In Espanol, you can have one male and one hundred females, and the group is referred to using the masculine pronoun. Who am I to judge?

You could address the room of students in this fashion, “Hello, Homo sapiens!” or just “Howdy Homos!”

I make similar sounds when I start Touretting.

I made a “Walking Dead” zombie/”The Strain” strigoi sound when ordering coffee the other day. It just happened. I liked it.

This pumps me up: https://youtu.be/8YGn0l9zfew

Say it anyway. Followed by “...and GFyourself.”
