Here in Texas (though it may be national), Hillary has been running an ad which is supposed to make us think she is more trustworthy on national security than Trump. It shows Trump saying “shut the f*** up” at one point and “I’d bomb the sh*t out of ‘em!” at another. It looks to me like an ad which simply makes Trump look decisive while Hillary comes off as the SOS candidate she is. It’s probably backfiring here in Texas.
She’s running it in the DC area. I see them in Maryland, but presumably she’s aiming at the Virginia viewers. I completely agree with your impression: the ad HELPS Trump. I laugh everytime I see it because it’s backfiring.
