On Saturday, Apostle Wayne T. Jackson of Great Faith Ministries, a black church in Detroit, wrapped Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in a Jewish tallit, or prayer shawl, brought straight from the Holy Land of Israel for the purpose.
If there were ever an image that could confound the false caricature of Trump as a neo-KKK antisemitic demagogue, that would be it.
Which is precisely why Trumps die-hard detractors are seething.
The Times of Israel, covering the reaction on social media presented both sides of the issue: [W]hile some mocked the image of a Protestant presidential candidate receiving a Jewish tallit from a Christian pastor, others saw the incident as pandering to both Jewish and African-American voters.

And for all the alt-right phantoms that NeverTrump and the Clinton campaign have conjured, the left-wing tyranny of political correctness is a real and concrete thing, closely aligned with the anti-Israel fanatics who are bringing elite antisemitism back into vogue on American campuses and elsewhere.
Notably, Trumps poll numbers have improved as the Clinton campaign has escalated its Trump-as-Hitler-KKK attack.
Perhaps there are enough Americans who are sick of the Thought Police, and willing to oppose four (eight?) more years of the same.
Amen to that.

For starters... “:^)
Let her. I don’t think that wee-otch’s lies are playing, anymore.
Someone at that church must have appreciated Donald for a long time already. Perhaps one of the Deacons. This moment was planned and prepared for. That is not something you do on the spur of the moment, certainly not while in public. Others in that church had to either be in agreement with the gesture, or had no virulently strong response to reject it. Most small churches operate by consensus to some degree.
“... his own private sanctuary where they met with Him. It was an intimate, private space and time set apart from anyone else, totally focused upon God. This was their PRAYER CLOSET, as in Matthew 6:6!”
I do know evangelicals who have/use prayer shawls for this purpose. It gives privacy during prayer, shuts out external distractions, and makes it easier to focus on prayer time. (Satan loves to provide distractions when Christians are talking to God!)
The left always ascribes a political motive to EVERYTHING...because that is all that drives them.
To a liberal People are no more than equations/votes and or an obstacle.
Meanwhile the Witches of New Hampshire, are waiting to hear back from Hillary’s group. She has a standing invitation to attend a Sisterhood Initiation Ceremony as special guest. They have her black hooded robe with a tie-sash all ready. Pre-Scented with sulphur for ambiance. It will be like when Tiger Woods used to get those green golf jackets, lots of pictures, lots of excitement, but nothing will be green.
Jesus/Christian usage
Lets see what the scripture says about Yashua and the talit-katan and the tzit-tzit. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem [Greek: kraspedon=tassel; Hebrew equivalent=tzit-tzit] of his garment Matt 9:20. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem [kraspedon=tassels] of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole Matt 14:35,36. These two texts show us that Yashua (Jesus) wore the tzit-tzit as commanded in the Torah.
It was believed at that time that the Messiah would come with healing in his tzit-tzit because of what was written in Malachi: But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings [Hebrew: kanaf]; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall Mal 4:2. In our day we have the privilege and honor of restoring the ancient blessings, and following our Lord Yashua in the wearing of the Tallit and tzit-tzit. May we walk in this day with the power of His healing and provision in our wings.
It is a comfort, a thrill, and a holy thing to wrap yourself in your tallit. This is a physical manifestation of your tent of meeting, your prayer closet, and your marriage canopy. Thank Yahweh when you put it on, maybe with the traditional blessing: Blessed are You, O Lord my God, King of the universe, who has given me the tzit-tzit in which to meet you.O
Thank you Jane L. I knew none of that before now.
2nd handshake in as many days that has Hillary throwing ash trays and her media cohorts absolutely bumfuzzled.
Very informative
and poignant,
Thank You.
The Israeli Flag ,,,
Also a prayer shawl ?
What it truly says is that Christians regardless of the church one attends we all have to realize the origins of our faith and it is the Holy Land.
Go to Amazon. There are many designs including one that has designs found on the Isreal flag.
Some very reasonably priced
Thanks for the additional Scripture and usage descriptions.
Plus also I had attended a “Decision America” rally in my home state which presided by the Rev. Franklin Graham late last week. He told Christians to register and to vote on Nov. 8th.
The only video I saw, was the that was jerked by Reuters.
What *I* —witnessed—, not ‘saw’, was a moment in time where, in a place of obscurity, by a servant of The Most High not known in the realm, or by the king’s men, an annointing (as can be had without Secret Serice scrutiny over the oil) and a shouldering of the mantle. The ‘book’ given could have been an RSV, OKJ, NIV, but no, it was the new version of the Jewish Messianic Christian Ta’anach. That, is what sealed what I saw.
I should have gotten a prayer shawl when we visited Israel last March.
Well... I’m just going to have to go back to get one.
Shucks. (YIPPIE!!!!)
Thank you for this excellent article.
