Virginia is in play!
Initial polls following naming of Tim Kaine as running mate suggested Virginia was in the bag for the Democrats. But, now, maybe not.
DEFINITELY NOT.
TRUMP WILL WIN VA!
Trump was up .5 in this around convention time. This is the best poll from VA for Trump in a long time
The ads are working and I’m sure this poll was done prior to Trump’s big day yesterday.
Hillary stopped he ads in VA last month because she thought it was in the bag. It’s panic time for her.
If western & central blue collar Virginians turn out as I think they may, Virginia will go for Trump.
They've already been created. It's just a matter of when to feed them into the system.
“If western & central blue collar Virginians turn out as I think they may, Virginia will go for Trump.”
100% correct and then some.
VA is NOT a state the Trump campaign should write off based on 2008 and 2012 POTUS media-immaculation results. I don’t think they ever have. If Trump gets even somewhat better than normal turnout in those areas of the state, he’ll have a far better than average shot at winning it despite the NoVA offset.
About 25% of Virginians haven’t heard enough about Pence to make a decision on like or dislike. Time to get Pence in motion.
The South will be red again from VA to TX.
The explanation of methodology at the link says they weighted the results for numerous criteria (age, sex, party affiliation, cell phone versus land line, etc.) but does not give data on the actual weighting. Have you seen anything on their weighting?
That their poll reports approval levels in the 50’s for Obama and MacAuliffe, makes me suspect it has a large +D. The Presidential poll doesn’t seem to include all the candidates — just HC and DT, and 16% are reported as “don’t know” or refused to answer. Hmm...
Wow, I really thought VA was a goner after Kaine was tapped. I still have Trump winning without Virginia, but this would be YUUUGE. The more time the dems have to spend protecting their home turf, the better.
Will Stein and Johnson be on the ballot in Virginia? If so they should be included in the poll. Otherwise this poll is not 100% accurate.
Regarding who will be on the ballot in Virginia: Gary Johnson is the only third-party candidate currently certified in Virginia. Jill Stein, the Greenie, along with two independents (Rocky De La Fuente and Evan McMullin) have now turned in a sufficient number of signatures, and the state is going through the process of checking if enough of them are valid).
