Even before the FBI identified new cyber attacks on two separate state election boards, the Department of Homeland Security began considering declaring the election a "critical infrastructure," giving it the same control over security it has over Wall Street and and the electric power grid.
The latest admissions of attacks could speed up that effort possibly including the upcoming presidential election, according to officials.
"We should carefully consider whether our election system, our election process, is critical infrastructure like the financial sector, like the power grid," Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said.
"There's a vital national interest in our election process, so I do think we need to consider whether it should be considered by my department and others critical infrastructure," he said at media conference earlier this month hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.

Couple this with the story today about the IRS knowing for five years that one million people's identities were stolen and they never spoke up or fixed the problem, and it should be evident why the Executive branch cannot be trusted to manage the election process.

For example, South Carolina recently arrested the head of BLM in the state and charged him with attempted murder. He’ll get 5-10 years in state prison.

They have NO authority over Presidential elections. The President is elected by the electors chosen by the STATES.[Article2 section 1]
Doesn’t matter if there are umpteen election entities. There is NO justification for the feds to do anything but accept the results.
But with all its weaknesses, to turn control of the internet over to non Americans and indeed, non Westerners who may hate us and be corrupt, well, that’s a bad idea.
Well, I generally poo-pooed those theories until I saw the Drudge Report headline yesterday. Obama won't have to stay in office if he can get hilLIARy elected. She'll destroy the country at a faster rate than Obama has. What better way than to fix the election, rigged to go her way, no matter what the voters say? Isn't that the way of despots and Marxist dictators? Yes, and that's why this worries so much.
Just like the big fix was in to get hilLIARy off the hook for her email scandals, now they have to get her across the finish line ahead of Trump.
They must be worried that the Wicked Witch of the Left won't make it on her own, so they have come up with the favorite tool of the socialists and communists, rig the election. Claim it has to do with national security and get Slow Joe Johnson to head it up.
If this happens unilaterally, without input from Congress (notice the chicken sh*t announces this while Congress is home grazing grass), Trump won't stand a chance. Congress, unfortunately, will probably be complicit in his crimes against the Constitution and the American people.
