“Conservatism”, in the sense of people being leery of radical change, is dead. We currently NEED radical change, in the free-market/less-government direction, before our society implodes.

This is very true — one thing we need to be wary of right now is exactly that brand of "conservatism"… as something as simple as everyone is subject to the law (i.e. Rule of Law) is pretty dang radical in our current [political/judicial] environment.

Another thing, IMO, is the Republican = conservative = good formulation; Stefan and Vox are absolutely correct to ask the question What, exactly, is being conserved? in that context.

>What does that mean? Free market global free movement of people, goods, and capital across national borders? That's what a lot of people are rejecting now.

Wouldn't you say accomplishing that change would then be a pretty radical change?

Sure it would. But what "free market/less-government" meant a few years back isn't what voters want now. Other free market less-government things people wanted (social security privatization, bank deregulation) turned out not to be such great ideas.

That’s an interesting picture, but subject to more than one interpretation. I’m assuming you see it as an example of one person who is so hidebound and set in the old ways that he can’t perceive the necessity and the desirability of change, as the others clearly can.

I'm not sure those really were "free market/less-government" situations though.
The banking deregulation as an example simply didn't exist: banks were and still are heavily regulated — and the mind-numbingly stupid thing about the regulations is that they offer none of the ostensible protections that are claimed they are for. (The common law, for example, has nine felonies among which is larceny. We also have fraud and embezzlement… so what really is the need for so much regulation on banks?)

Well, since there are no membership requirements, we should congratulate Hillary on not demanding investigation of card-carrying alt-right members.

Maybe that is her next speech.

“the Alt-Right doesn’t give a damn about their sacred Constitution...”

Oh. Well, then, they can go TAFFAARD.

The ALT-RIGHT is another one of LEFT’s attempts to define and target their opposition.

Just with the TEA PARTY, there really isn’t such a thing as an ORGANIZED TEA PARTY that the media portrayed.

Rather the Tea Party was a true grass roots group of UNORGANIZED individuals who rose up to protest Obummercare.

It’s still unorganized, from the heart - today. No major office with lots of employees/lobbyists like the DNC and the RNC.

In short, the TEA PARTY doesn’t exist as the mainstream media portrayed it, but labeling it as such was a useful tool to galvanize the Left against conservative principles.

Requiring that banks not have lending standards isn’t exactly de-regulation. Social security privatization only happened trivially, and in an environment of government manipulation of the markets and abuse of them as wealth-transfer mechanisms.

We also need to end political correctness and let communities set their own standards re: freedom of association.

And I thought it was their newest evil-sounding focus group tested label for Trump supporters, so they have a named group to vilify.

“What Is The Alt-Right?”

Neomasculinity. The Roosh universe, of which I’m a part of, being the central cog of it. We see the world for what it is.

“Donald Trump for POTUS”

The Alt-Right’s candidate. Gee, who “backed” him from the beginning?

Genius, thy name is “GOPsterinMA”. True. Very true.

“The Alt-Right is whoever considers himself Alt-Right. There are no membership requirements.”

Hey, those are the EXACT same requirements for being a “true conservative”!

Listened to this during a long car ride earlier today, the most cogent point is the way identity politics is used by every group and only deemed racist when used by Caucasians. I disagree with Vox Day on one point regarding, cultural superiority vs my preferred term of cultural success, you may be culturally superior and not be culturally successful in real world terms.
