Germany, Poland and France call for more efforts to end Ukraine crisis

The foreign ministers of Germany, France and Poland agreed on Sunday there should be greater international efforts to end the fighting in eastern Ukraine, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier told reporters.

He said there had not been sufficient progress in implementing the Minsk agreement. Western officials were talking with Russia and Ukraine to encourage them to implement measures already agreed in the Minsk process, including communal elections, he said.

"We have to work for a de-escalation of the situation," he said.

As usual they just want the United States to solve the problem for them.

And it's THEIR problem.

Shouldn’t Germany and France be more concerned about their Muslim guests?

Translation:it’s time for Ukraine’s government to officially cede the region...and anything else they might want....to the USSR 2.0 so we stop all that hate speech about “invasion”....”occupation”....MH17,etc.

We just can't have any more of those pesky Dutch passports littering the countryside of the USSR's "labensraum".

Yeah, as soon as Putin started murdering Ukrainians the surrender monkeys in Berlin and Paris said no mas. They literally watched KGB Vlad destroy over 100 miles of Ukraine-Russia international border and invade Ukraine with the regular Russian army. The European countries have said/done nothing about over 10,000 of their neighbors being murdered by Russia. How pathetic is that?

A coup only gets to rule what they can physically grab by force. There isn’t some nutty right to rule everything the old government had because you seized the Capitol. The eastern areas have the same right to grab an area that the people who grabbed Kiev had.

Sorry, Ukraine has had internationally recognized elections since the “coup”. Even Russia recognized the election of Poroshenko. You’re barking up the wrong tree there, FRiend.

Want to bring peace to Ukraine? Divide it between the Russian friendly and EU friendly parts.

Fascist Russians like Putin consider any place Russians are living to be part of Russia.

There will never be peace in Ukraine as long as Putin is in the Kremlin and Russia is a one party fascist state. He simply can’t have a free and prosperous Ukraine while his mafia robs the Russian people blind. Eventually, the Russian people will notice the raw deal they are getting and have their own Maidan. That is what Putin is really terrified of and that is why he has engineered the murder over 10,000 Ukrainians to stop it.

Sorry, but the east has as much natural right to separate from the coup, as the coup did to gain power by force. And big surprise that the nations that funded the coup endorsed it.
The war didn’t start until the maidan bunch organized into militias and moved east to consolidate power. Screw them.

That’s false. The shooting started in the east when Russians arrived from Moscow. One has even been identified as a Russian national in the “famous” photo of a woman “rebel” from Sloviansk. There were ZERO Ukrainian “militias” in the east when Russian green men occupied Sloviansk. The Ukrainians came later. Then the regular Russian army poured over the border in August 2014 and defeated the Ukrainian volunteers/militia/army.

There is all kinds of photographic evidence of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine but continue your fairy tale if you wish.

Spring for Obama’s new socialists
Winter for Poland, Ukraine

Seems like lyrics for a song. Almost.

I'm reminded of the pre-WWII Low Countries' diplomats whose pre-invasion meeting determined that their planned, but extensive, defenses were insufficient against the Wehrmacht—and that the Wehrmacht was really France's problem.

Does either of you propose the US send the Army to Ukraine?

Do you propose we engage and destroy Russian assets there...and those that would be coming?

Because the Russians will fight to the death over Ukraine.

If we are not prepared for existential war over that God Forsaken hell hole we ought not do it.

I think a split is inevitable, I could agree to that, as long as Western Ukraine is free to join NATO.

It’s not perfect, but perhaps the closest solution to the Czech-Slovak “Velvet Divorce”. I just don’t see Ukraine’s current borders as being governable anymore under a Democratic government in Kiev.

I could support a UN Sanctioned split, supported by a ratified Treaty between Russia, Poland and Germany.

But I would never support an expansion of NATO for any reason.

It's already too big. And, it puts the US on the delivery dock for countries like Bulgaria and Romania. Not to mention all the other countries who don't even meet their obligated, committed Defense spending.

There's NO REASON for the US Taxpayer and Soldiers to guarantee the safety of those who could easily provide for their own.

Western Europe dwarfs the Russian economy and their technology is better too.

We are not needed.
