If you have a preference for certain skin colors more than others, you’ll feel more comfortable as a registered democrat.

in the real world, we often work with approximations. As to where to draw the line, it depends on the cost. Perfection is simply too costly.

Having said this, polls are outside the margin of error more times than they should be, and the bias is against us. If we’re indicated to be down by a few points the weekend prior to the election, we actually have a good chance of winning.

I hold a Doctorate in Statistics from one of the top three departments in the world.

I know what I am talking about.

Don’t even think of lecturing me with the DC cliches of “perfect is the enemy of the good” and other assorted contemporary brain rot.

Now go away and stay away.

Of course you’re not a rude person because you’re a mediocre person that can do nothing more than kiss bureaucracy’s behind to feed your belly.

It is not rude to admonish those who settle for second place or below. It is vital to dress such mindsets down, in public if necessary, to let their cohort of compromisers know the challenges they shall meet if they expect to be cared for and fed.

So many of the present government civil service is inhabited by those that subscribe to “BS is the best we can come up with, so BS is acceptable”. And your type would add “Besides, such clever BS can be construed to be a good approximation to BS with a reduced stink factor, therefore this BS is cutting edge BS”.

This sort of crap will change when Trump is elected.

Going back to hardline in science is not new. It existed in the 1940s, 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s and a good portion of the 1980s. It was lost with the advent and flowering of political correctness in the 1990s.

And the result is to read idiots write that they can generate a representative sample from a non-random sample using weighting and to have persons such as you chime in saying it’s an ‘approximation’ when no peer-reviewed scientific journal anywhere would ever let such a notion see the light of day.

Such notions fall in the category of humans born with penises declaring they have the mind of a vagina, therefore they are women.

Such Rot!

You miss my point entirely. The “human factor” is pretty damn well hard to beat. Nothing expressed Reagan’s human factor better than his one liner “There you go again.” or his unforgettable “I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent’s youth and inexperience.” He totally demolished Mondale with that one and everyone forgot his previous misstatements. ZINGERS are unforgettable and last far beyond the moment. I am sure Trump has thought up one or two for the perfect occasion.Just waiting to hear him deliver one.
Trump is going to win. I’ve been sure of that for months.
