A federal judge ruled Friday that two students and an employee must be allowed to use restrooms matching their gender identity at University of North Carolina campuses, and he said they have a strong chance of proving the state's bathroom-access measure violates federal law, a judicial rebuke that transgender rights advocates hailed as a victory.
U.S. District Judge Thomas Schroeder temporarily blocked the University of North Carolina from making the three plaintiffs follow the restroom provision of the so-called HB2 law as the larger case makes its way to trial in November. His final decision on the law won't come until after trial.

Why doesn’t anyone talk about how what restroom anyone uses is way outside the purview of the constitution and is not, in any sense, an issue for the federal government? If they can tell you where you may go to the bathroom then there isn’t anything they cannot tell us to do.

Isn’t it “wonderful” that we pay these worthless turds to sit around all day and “dream up” more “rights” that the Constituition “conveys” to the “very lowest crap that lives among us.” I mean there’s no more “important” issue that we absolutely must “address,” than where we all go to take a dump! If we were to try and convice “men” like this jerk, we’d have to install a whole lot more lamp posts on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC to hook them to.
Unforeseen consequences of making the Feds the police of what rights are upheld by states. This helped solve the problem of freedmen’s rights but it opened a pandora’s box to all manner of other politically correct “rights” as is here.
And yet, even with states they can get too specific. If the tranny woman dressed (credibly) as a man must go to the women’s room, is this not going to foster the very consternation that conservatives have been claiming women patrons of the room are being unfairly subjected to? When it’s the other way around there are molestation concerns, to be sure. Why not a rule that when there is a doubt, the men’s room is the default place to go.
The names, addresses and photos of the “two students and employee” need to be published.

You’ve frequently attempted to support Christianity with sub-Christian reasoning. Christianity needs no such help. It is driven from the divine Christ who was incarnated as Jesus.
What people call “common sense” is only a shadow of truth, and cannot always account for all righteousness. It couldn’t, since the fall in the Garden. Note in the referenced article that the big “common sense” objection is to men dressing as women and then appearing in women’s rooms where they will be more likely than other visitors to try to molest the occupants. The case here is the other way around — a case where even the “common sensers” would say there is no such risk. In fact for someone dressed as a man to show up in a women’s room could, by “common sense,” be said to be a breach of the peace.
Making the men’s room the default destination in case of question would solve the “common sense” issues that were raised here. It still would not embrace “all righteousness” but again, secular law was never intended to do that.

If “Right Reason” means to order everybody on pain of secular penalty to follow Christian principles, then I demur from participation in it. North Carolina is very polar, and from what I’ve seen, I would guess that among the people, the will is present, on moral grounds, anyway.

The more this goes on, the more likely there will be predatory attacks by those using the laws and rules to gain access to their prey. Also, on the other side, there is likely going to be some ad hoc bathroom gender reassignment surgery.
