Attorneys Say Attack By Female Inmates Led To Death Of 26-Year-Old Madison Deal

Attorneys Tom O'Neal and Bryan Hoss said Monday that 26-year-old Madison Deal's death was caused by an attack by female inmates at the county workhouse and by inadequate medical care by the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA).

District Attorney Neal Pinkston has asked for an investigation by the Sheriff's Office into the death of Ms. Deal.

A spokesperson for the sheriff said a preliminary autopsy found the death was related to a medical problem and did not involve "physical trauma."

The attorneys said, "On Wednesday, Aug. 10, Madison Deal, 26, of Chattanooga, turned herself into the Hamilton County Jail for a misdemeanor citation. Because she had failed to do three public work days, she was sent to CCA Silverdale.

"Two days later, on Friday, Madison was attacked by other inmates in her cell, all subject to video camera surveillance. Silverdale had actual knowledge of this attack because it was on video and because Silverdale segregated the attackers.

"Madison spoke to her mother, Lee Anne, via video conference on both Saturday and Monday. Madison reported that she told Silverdale of the attack and sought medical treatment at Silverdale. Madison said she told nurses at Silverdale that she was vomiting, had tightness in her chest and severe head pain.

"According to her mother, her condition worsened. After Madison's worsening condition on Monday, and hearing from Madison that the nurses at Silverdale were not treating her, Lee Anne Deal called Silverdale and pleaded with officials to give her daughter proper medical care. According to Lee Anne, the nurse at Silverdale hung up on her.

Prison is all about race....something most cat ladies here are clueless about

And unless there is a strong hard white boy presence the toads run the joint....poorly

A small cadre of 30-40 Aryan Brotherhood members in the 1980s or 90s could dominate 2000 black inmates thru fear and resoluteness in serious federal and California joints

It’s a wonder what whites can do in the face of serious adversity when they put their minds to it

Which is why the Feds busted them up ....

It’s unusual for killings in female prisons but I can imagine this was black on white

Most whites today are pitiful

A mere bucket of piss compared to their ancestry

Pass that local farm raised sustainable dairy free chai will ya while I groom my gay beard

Honey can I drive the Subaru today please....can I can I?

Honey can I be on top.....purty please....its been a year.....you promised.....(sulking)

Yep.....real impressive times

I don’t disagree with your view, or your comments in reference to Silverstein. I’m not familiar with the case, so I’m responding to your premise. Sounds reasoned to me.

I’ve become quite self-contained over the years. That means I can survive not having contact with other humans. I don’t require a lot of outside stimulation. I think. I ponder. I reason.

Yes, I like keeping up with that is going on, but beyond that, I can survive alone, isolated, and reasonably happy.

Happiness is a conscious decision. People can be in a troubling situation and decide not to let it get them down. IMO, that’s a real winner.

People who have everything can be very unhappy.

People who have absolutely nothing, can be reasonably happy.

To me, it would be far worse to be subjected to life and death games in the prison general population.

Lock me away and toss the key. I’ll survive.

You likely would do ok for a period of time

An old federal prison like El Reno OK original Arkansas unit or K building at Lewisburg USP or ABC or D houses Atlanta USP or the old Folsom hole have barred or grated gates in their holes
Which is preferable to communicate with others and barter and send kites

Newer facilities have solid steel doors and no windows anywhere just a slat for food tray and cuffing up

And some really sweet spots still use Cool Hand Luke or Great Escape boxes

They can and will control the lights....if they are nasty they will leave lights on 24/7

Or blackout

Whichever they think is worse to you

Stainless crapper and food thru slat three times a day unless you piss them off

Shower box once a week or cuff up to go to shower unless again you make them mad

Also once or twice a week you cuff up to go to a tiny 20 by 20 yard for air

You might be alone or might have a cellie

Anything over 6 months gets weird

Can’t live off internal dialogue alone but yes it can be done

It’s not a dorm room and some folks crack up

SWIM never did but SWIM did not ask for it on purpose

So I’m told
