My opinion on Trump and immigration is that he’ll do all that’s possible to stop the flow. He might have to “evolve” on how to do it, but we know his goal, which is the opposite of Hillary, and we’re pretty sure he will fight hard to stop that flow.

I don’t think he is implying amnesty. Maybe for some a legal way to citizenship. Get in line and wait your turn. Nothing wrong with that for some. They will then get vetted that way.

He said he would enforce the laws. He suspect that may mean allowing some to get on the waiting list to be a citizen the legal way, be vetted.

Trump will never secure the border as long as there are bulldozers or ladders in Mexico.

The leftist Canadian Prime Minster will allow Mexicans to fly to Canada where they can easily get across the insecure US/Canadian border.

We need to wall off our money by a Constitutional amendment putting in permanent tax and benefit funding caps and make any amnesty deal contingent on rapid ratification.

Not just “some”, probably about 97% or more of at least 11 million people. Most of them are generally decent, hard-working people.

Our roads will have about 10% more traffic. Auto insurance will go up by about 20%. Put 10% more traffic on the roads and the number of crashes will go up about 20%.

These people will want to bring their children now in Mexican schools (and their wives/mujers). That’s probably five to ten million more children in US schools.

Same plan. He has just taken a sharpness of of the corners. Why? Because the media wants to use it as a wedge. It is a lot harder to drive a dull wedge.

Reality: We get a wall. It will be impressive. There are 11-20 million illegals in the country. He will start at the worst and work towards the best. If all goes well and we get 90% out, there could be an easier path created for the last 10%. That rounded corner.

My answer to the manpower required: Step one is to do away with the ATF. What little real problems we have alcohol, tobacco and firearms can go over to the FBI. The ATF personnel are reassigned to ICE. A moratorium is put on all asylum/refugees. This is to take the Liberal judges out of the game.

In which country is it easier to get an automotive industry job, the USA or Mexico, if you are a citizen of the country?

Smart strategy for general election. Winning is more important than purity of rhetoric. Losers of election become totally irrelevant. Ask Akins, Murdock, Romney, Dole, McCain etc how much power they now have to change any laws.

They are already here, our auto insurance has already gone up. On the other hand, many more will pay taxes by acquiring a legal social security number. Right now, illegals favor cash under the table type jobs.

Nope. Some the way I believe Trump will view it is a few percent. Special cases, etc.

Main thing is build the wall now to stop illegal immigration and send back as many as we can, and let a small percent have a way to citizenship by getting in line behind those already in line.

Were would you send a 17 year old girl that had her parents die and is still living in America with no relative in Mexico? Give her a chance to get in line to become a legal citizen, take the oath, earn her citizenship. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. Have her do it the right way. If she refuses, then send her back regardless of her circumstances. Why be afraid of that.

When Trump builds the wall this will not be another issue for our children to deal with.

As if they wanted to BE a Citizen. YEARS, and couldn’t (WOULDN’T) even *attempt* to go through the motions?

Hell, IMO, reciprocity laws should be the norm re: immigration. Let the Libs heads explode when we say, “Well, you point to country ABC for ‘Socialistic better at XYZ’. So, we’re going to IMPLEMENT XYZ”.

That needs to be amended out of the Constitution.

No. People need to become literate in their own language, so that they understand the clear meaning of that clause.

It does not (and never did) mean that the children of foreigners who happen to be born on U.S. soil, are American citizens. No, no, and again, no.

The key phrase that underlies the entire intent and force of that clause is: "...and subject to the jurisdiction thereof..."

Foreign nationals, nor their children born on U.S. soil, are "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" (U.S. jurisdiction, that is). They are subject to the jurisdiction of their OWN countries.

The 14th Amendment doesn't need to be scrapped, re-written, or clarified in any way. It simply needs to be enforced according to the meaning of simple English.

Are you saying we should use the same law as the country the person is coming from regarding immigration? IOW if they come from Mexico we use that same standard, if they come from Sweden we use Swedish standard? If so, I think I like that.

Truth is we asked for someone to enforce our real laws not BO’s executive orders and that is what Trump has said and continues to say he will do. I am surprised that the intelligent folks on FR want to even listen to the Clinton media interpretation of snippets of what Trumps says. Go Trump!
