Horrified by Trump, Democrats getting nostalgic about Romney

When President Barack Obama ran for re-election, Democrats made no secret of their disdain for Mitt Romney. That was all before Donald Trump.

Horrified by the prospect of Trump in the White House, Obama and his party have changed their tune about Romney. As they denounce Trump as “unhinged” and unfit, they’re getting nostalgic about the 2012 Republican nominee they now describe as principled, competent and honorable.

It’s a sharp reversal from four years ago. Back then, Democrats spent hundreds of millions of dollars portraying the former Massachusetts governor as a callous, unpatriotic, pet-abusing caricature of the über-rich. …

Plus, Candy Crowley helped Obama during the debate when he was floundering.

Disillusioned GOP voter to God:
"Lord how did we anger you so that you should
give us Donald Trump as our candidate for president?"

God to disillusioned GOP voter:
"Stop whining about Mr. Trump or I'll really
give you something to cry about."

Liberals hated Mitt and now they decide they love him!

What a difference four years makes.

Well, you see, the whole point of this “nostalgia” for Mitt, was that Mitt was eminently beatable, and THAT is the kind of candidate the Democrats would like for the Republicans to put up.

The Donald is truly a “Trump” card ion this game, and it baffles and confuses the Democrats endlessly. They have no idea how to wage a campaign against him, as all the charges of “racism, homophobia, bigotry, sexism and just generally bad buy” all seem so - ineffective - in light of the fact that The Donald only hits back all the harder with his counterpunches. This is not the way Republican candidates are supposed to respond, they should fall back and go on full defense.

The Donald just does not play right, he sets off the land mines and turns around, making them look impotent and not especially competent.

In the debates, perhaps The Donald may bring up the fact that he once provided praise and support to the campaigns of both Slick, for President, and Herself, for New York Senator, because at one time, he thought they both showed some promise despite some negative aspects. But he has since become entirely disillusioned with the really poor record, that Herself as former Senator and as Secretary of State, has compiled. There are no ringing achievements, and Herself has sown only discord and chaos in her path since the year 2001.

I know the feeling. I’ve been nostalgic for Gore and Kerry ever since the anti-American bigot seized power nearly eight years ago.

Donald Trump is not for sale! That is another reason Dems and Rinos are so afraid of him.

(Yes, I know, that was a typo.)

They hate it when our side finds a candidate willing t\oi fight instead of meekly roll over.

Can you imagine the debate if it had been Trump up there when Candy Crowley went on the offensive right along with Obama - so lies cold be said w/o being attributed to Obama?....

In 2012, Romney refused to campaign effectively and gave the election to Obama.

In 2016, Romney is working to help Clinton get elected.
