President Barack Obama, in Baton Rouge on Tuesday (Aug. 23) to view the destruction brought last week's historic rainfall, will also meet with the family of Alton Sterling, who was shot to death during a confrontation with police officers in early July. He also planned to meet with the families of police officers who were killed in an ambush two weeks later in the wake of protests.
Obama had been criticized for not coming to the state earlier to view the flood damage. He also was criticized for not coming to the city after Sterling's shooting, which was followed by demonstrations and the killing of police officers in the Baton Rouge area.
Sterling, 37, was shot outside the Triple S Food Mart on North Foster Drive after police arrived to investigate reports of a man with a gun. Videos of the confrontation show the officers wrestling Sterling to the ground.

I noticed in the few minutes I watched, he seemed to find the black families to console after talk about the flood and how wonderful his agencies have helped them, while the news coverage showed lots of white families hurting.

Yes, Alton Sterling got into an altercation with the police and ended up getting shot. The blacks looking for trouble erupted in violence and caused even worse problems. The media failed in its job to point out WHY Alton Sterling died.
First of all, Alto Sterling was an individual WITH A FELONY RECORD selling pirated DVDs on the street which is ILLEGAL. To many people, that is no big deal. But, it was a big deal. The store owner knew he was doing it and was probably getting a cut of the profits to allow him to do his illegal transactions on his store property. Sterling was dealing in cash, not traceable checks and certainly not credit cards. If he were well known, he had a LOT of customers looking for him and was probably at the time raking in a lot of CASH. The clientele he was dealing with were NOT upstanding, law-abiding citizens. They too, were criminals because they KNEW they weren't supposed to be buying pirated DVDs/CDs.
So, you have the perfect retail storm developing. Mr. Sterling is selling illegal goods tax-free, collecting a big lump sump of cash and one of his customers who was also a criminal decided (s)he wanted some of that cash and threatened Sterling about taking it. That's when Sterling, a felon PROHIBITED FROM HAVING A WEAPON, waved his gun around and told the person to get lost. That's when the phone call went in to police that something was wrong at the scene.
When they show up, Sterling is aggressive and uncooperative since he is doing something illegal, store owner starts filming to protect his source of side income in the event the police have to get rough and then we saw what happened next. The police did not cause Sterling's death. Sterling caused it.
The only alternative he had when confronted was to surrender and he chose to fight with the police, BEING A FELON WITH A GUN IN HIS POCKET. And, when he tried to reach for that gun (because "...nobody gonna tell me what to do cause I dindu nuffin....") he got shot because a policeman didn't want to get shot in the face. The media knows all of this because they also have lots of experience with criminal confrontations from their jobs AND logical thinking skills (same experience that I have), but they didn't report it. The real criminals in this case are the media types who didn't tell the whole truth.

POTUS, Obama was totally disconnected in Baton Rouge yesterday. He could care less about the storm victims, all of them Black White or otherwise. The people of Louisiana gave him the cold shoulder. I would think the Democrat Party will not send Hillary Clinton down to LA. She will be thrown out of the state and sent back to her criminal buddies in Washington & New York. Brooklyn, New York city, should be ashamed that her crooked headquarters are located in the heart of Brooklyn!!!
All I would recommend to the officer families is to tell POSTUS to get bent. He is just going to tell you that your police officer loved one was killed because they were racist.
See if Obama doesn’t become the leader of BLM when his term is up..
And Sterling Alton had been arrested for the exact same thing before. Guns, DVD, the whole bit.
This pirating thing goes on in every low income neighborhood, usually out the trunk of the car. FBI does not put any effort into stopping it either.
But you want to know why your movie ticket is $15? Part of it is this.

Sterling got into an almost identical altercation with police in 2009. He pulled a gun on a cop then, too, but didn’t end up dead that time.
The cops knew that this time. This has been widely reported, but ignored by BLM and Obama.
