The theory that Donald Trump is preparing for a defeat at the polls in November by planning to launch a media company is really picking up momentum.
The rumors started swirling earlier this summer. After a few op-eds came out about the idea last week, CNN tackled it this weekend. Now that Fox News Sean Hannity has revealed himself to be informally advising Trump, The Young Turks took it on, too:
Cenk Uygur mentioned in a broadcast that Hannity, Steve Bannon, and Roger Ailes, all of whom have been rumored with varying levels of confirmation are big in conservative media. That, then, could mean that Trump really is gearing up to launch a media company and bring all of his followers and voters along with him.
Hes gathered together here a little bit of a posse of conservative media, Uygur explained. Now, part of the reason people think for that is at least [the] possibility that afterwards, theyre going to start their own media company and they view this as just a money-making exercise. Lets gather up as large an audience as we can. Even if we lose, even if we get blown out, who cares? If youve got 40% of the country on your side and you can monetize that through the media, well, well be in great shape.'
Trump may well be going the route of Sarah Palin, who launched a short-lived subscription service for videos of her talking last year.

Or Sean Hannity. He lost me several years ago by constantly talking over his guests,
I guess you weren’t paying attention during the primaries. Hannity gave the candidates open mics to say whatever they wanted.
“Hey, their ringers are beating our ringers.”
Excellent idea.
I don’t disagree with this, especially the part about bringing libs on all the time. I’m usually tuned into Savage or listening to @Cernovich periscope when Hannity is on.
I hate that guy.
What does that have to do with anything?
Agreed. His politics are compatible; his personality, not so much. Over the years he was worn out my last nerve. Unless there is really something breaking and important coming up on his show, I’m sleeping and fail to watch
Should our movement falter and not take the White House, I think his starting a media company that tells the truth would be a great way to maintain the resistance. But I think we’ll win.
I would have liked to have seen that. I wouldn’t try to blow smoke up the skirts of those two. :-)
Hannity is doing a full hour town hall with Trump from the belly of the beast, Austin tonight. If I had a TV and still got Fox I might actually watch it. Hannity has redeemed himself by supporting Trump.
I suspect Trump Media will be his backup plan if he loses. Good luck on getting Hannity out of his Fox contract though.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I was gonna post the video, but thought it might be too inappropriate for here. Also, Shapiro is in it :/
I would like to know who in the world cares what Stink Yugo says about anything.
This was my thought. If he wins, Ivanka runs it. If he loses (dear lord no), he runs it. I know he likes his name on everything but I think it should be called Breitbart.
I thought he had an out clause (as well as other Fox personalities) if Ailes left.
I’ll always think of Crowder anytime I see “young Turks” in the news thread.
Way back in the day when he was on msnbc he looked middle aged & he tried so hard to seem hip. Why “young” was in the title , no idea.
I’m not going to give this Young Turk moron any air time, that’s for certain.
This is just another illustration of why the Bible says covetousness is a sin. He is twisting himself into a pretzel over this.
