Foundation Ties Bedevil Hillary Clinton’s Presidential Campaign
The New York Times ^ | 20 Aug 2016 | AMY CHOZICK and STEVE EDER

Posted on 08/20/2016 10:46:51 PM PDT by Theoria

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated more than $10 million. Through a foundation, so did the son-in-law of a former Ukrainian president whose government was widely criticized for corruption and the murder of journalists. A Lebanese-Nigerian developer with vast business interests contributed as much as $5 million.

For years the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation thrived largely on the generosity of foreign donors and individuals who gave hundreds of millions of dollars to the global charity. But now, as Mrs. Clinton seeks the White House, the funding of the sprawling philanthropy has become an Achilles’ heel for her campaign and, if she is victorious, potentially her administration as well.

With Mrs. Clinton facing accusations of favoritism toward Clinton Foundation donors during her time as secretary of state, former President Bill Clinton told foundation employees on Thursday that the organization would no longer accept foreign or corporate donations should Mrs. Clinton win in November.

But while the move could avoid the awkwardness of Mr. Clinton jetting around the world asking for money while his wife is president, it did not resolve a more pressing question: how her administration would handle longtime donors seeking help from the United States, or whose interests might conflict with the country’s own.

The Clinton Foundation has accepted tens of millions of dollars from countries that the State Department — before, during and after Mrs. Clinton’s time as secretary — criticized for their records on sex discrimination and other human-rights issues. The countries include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Brunei and Algeria.

The comment section for this article is rather interesting. It looks as if comments critical of the article and in support of the Clintons have very few “up” votes. Comments critical of the Clintons have in some cases 20 times the number of “up” votes as the others.

When do we get to see a list of the charities that the “Foundation” has given money to ..??

While I suspect the list is in reality very small; the Clintons lie so much, I bet they’ll come up with something spectacular .. and then we’ll see if the supposed benefactor will have the courage to expose her lie.

Wow! I’ve become quite cynical about the Clintons.

Yeah,, like the Clinton Foundation is right up there with Saint Judes in the wonderful work that they do. /S

The Clinton’s BOTH belong in jail for what they’ve done and anyone with an HONEST heart knows that’s TRUE.

It is totally legal for a candidate to donate his or her unspent campaign funds to a charity.

Can anyone guess which charity Hillary would donate hers to?

The NY Slime trying to come clean before their “Goddess” Hildabeast takes a fall, real or imaginary, in either case it will be real, watch for it.

The Hildebeest cannot take a fall as long as the current Justus Department and the current US Senate are in office.

November 8 will be special. It will decide if the Hildebeest falls (after 20 January).

Anybody voting for anyone but DJT (or failing to vote) for President is a moron. Same for anyone who votes downticket for any but the GOP slate.

Even though this article doesn’t go far enough re: the crime and corruption of Hitlery and Bill and Chelsea Clinton, at least it covers some of it. It is so horrible even the NY Slimes couldn’t ignore it totally. Am sure, now that this article is done, they won’t revisit the subject at all during the rest of the campaign. So, as someone else has said, print this article out, make copies, and hand it out whenever the opportunity arises.

Foundation Ties.

She founded it, devised it, ran it, she named it after herself.

Do the people who support her have this deranged view of life? Do they ignore wrongdoing in their kids. Their spouses? Is there a syndrome that half the people in this country ail from?

Agreed. Only the Slimes can get away with calling what the Clintons did with their Foundation “philanthropy.” It was pay-for-play bribery at the end of the day.

Must have been buried on page 29. This is just the Times’s attempt to be able to say this is all “old news” come election time.

Here’s paragraph twelve or so which states that everyone does it. In this case, Trump. Note how it the center, where anyone reading this piece, over coffee, taking it seriously, will by now be skimming the details. This paragraph talks about, after a few sentences, Hillarys ties to real estate moguls. It is designed for the pro Hillary reader to skip over the part that says Hillary took dough from a real estate guy and assume the subject of the paragraph was still trump which it is not. It was switched back to Hillary. A rare thing in supposed good writing switching subjects halfway through. And they happened to be talking about corruption in real estate, Trump’s milieu.

This is a step up from propaganda toward something more blatantly deceptive. As is the whole article.

“Still, Mr. Trump has seized on emails released over the past several weeks from Mrs. Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, in which a handful of donors are mentioned. He has attacked her over an email chain that showed Douglas J. Band, an adviser to Mr. Clinton, seeking to arrange a meeting between a senior American government official and Gilbert Chagoury, a Lebanese-Nigerian real estate developer who donated between $1 million and $5 million. Mr. Chagoury explained through a spokesman that he had simply wanted to provide insights on elections in Lebanon.”

Here it is. What does Trump have to do with any of this? Well the times tries and its readers will walk away saying trump does it too

Mrs. Clinton’s opponent, Donald J. Trump, could face his own complications if he becomes president, with investments abroad and hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate debt — financial positions that could be affected by moves he makes in the White House. And on Friday, Paul Manafort resigned as chairman of the Trump campaign, in part because of reports about his lucrative consulting work on behalf of pro-Russian Ukrainian politicians.

“Vanessa Friedman of The New York Times wrote, “Ms. Trump’s choice of a white dress…sent all sorts of interesting subliminal signals.” Just a week later, Wellington gushed over Hillary Clinton’s all-white DNC outfit. “White is a hue that’s both soft and strong.”

It’s impossible to take anything the New York Times vomits out seriously... They should change their name to “We Whore For Democrats”

You’re quite the idealist, aren’t you?

The money was given expecting to buy influence, I doubt the givers expected any other side effects.

The Clinton's......”thrived largely on the generosity of foreign donors”..............

Generosity my butt, the Clinton's have been using the “Pay to Play” scheme for years and finally it took Trump to open the door so everyone can see what has been happening. With the Clinton's history, if I were Trump I would wear a lot of body armor.

Because it has already been squandered on a luxurious lifestyle for the Clintons and their buddies.

Huh? Would not the CFF being paying Mr. Chagoury for HIS insights into Lebanon? People don’t give you money and then tell you what they think.
