A new poll suggests there is at least one fellow Republican who could unseat U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz in 2018: Rick Perry.
The former Texas governor would beat Cruz by 9 percentage points, according to the forthcoming survey from the Democratic-leaning firm Public Policy Polling. Set to be released later today, the poll found Perry would get 46 percent of the vote and Cruz 37 percent, with 18 percent saying they are not sure whom they would support…
In general, the poll shows Texas Republicans want Cruz to be their candidate for Senate again in 2018 — but not overwhelmingly. Fifty percent said they would like Cruz to be the nominee, while 43 percent said would like someone else to carry the banner.

I second your ‘amen’. It’s time for all America loving voters to stop throwing temper tantrums because your candidate lost. Put on your big boy/big girl underwear, and vote for the best remaining candidate: Trump. This utterly stupid hand-wringing about saving the conservative movement and the Republican party has to stop. This election is about one thing:the future of The United States of America. If the Hildebeast is elected, she will nominate Supreme Court justices that will shred the US Constitution. Game, set, match. The country we have known will be gone. Conservatism and the Republican party will mean nothing.
Pat yourselves on the back and congratulate yourselves for adhering to your ‘principles’ while the country completes it’s slide into Hell. All because you ‘never Trumpers’ would not vote for the ONE CANDIDATE that could have stopped a Hillary Clinton presidency. The America our FF created is ALREADY gone. 99% of what the Feds do is unconstitutional. People think we’re a free people? Not by a long shot. We are not free to express what we truly believe, only within “safe” limits. We are not free to arm, etc. A perusal of daily headlines quickly reveals we are no longer a country OF, BY, and FOR the People. The Elitists are ABOVE the law. That means we no longer have a legitimate government.

Beautifully stated. The Constitution died with the passage of the 14th Amendment, and later the raw deal court deciding that the commerce clause meant you could make wheat farmers starve to death.

Well then, eat me. Here’s a question for you: Why is it that REPUBLICANS RAN 16 CANDIDATES (other than Trump) and yet not one of them could defeat him?
I’ll answer - not a single candidate that ran looked to be serious about controlling the borders (that means a wall, deportations, and addressing terrorist immigration) which is the BIGGEST ISSUE of this campaign for not only Republicans, but for the country. Cruz was closest to be being serious, but even he treated it ‘just like another issue’ (”and, by the way, I’ll secure the border”...to paraphrase). Trump made it the CENTERPIECE of his campaign and got LAUGHED AT by your buddies at RNC and all of the other candidates.
We get it that Trump is a buffoon and a wildcard - who knows what he’ll do in office, but out of 16 candidates, NO ONE ELSE even sounded serious about border security, which is why they all lost. Some could have EASILY said that they agreed with Trump on principle, but maybe not specifics - and they likely would have defeated him...but then again, maybe none even agreed with Trump, even on principle.
But at this point, I don’t see how ANYONE can call Cruz ‘principled’ when he RENEGES on his WRITTEN PROMISE and this Texan conservative will do all he can to make sure others don’t try that stunt in the future.
