Flight of Fancy: EPA Moves to Regulate Airlines’ Emissions
americanthinker.com ^ | 8/20/2016 | Colonel Chris J. Krisinger

Just when U.S. airlines are experiencing an active summer travel season, with four percent more passengers expected than last summer’s banner year, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) weighs in on the industry. Their recent verdict: “planet-warming pollution produced by airplanes endangers human health by contributing to climate change.” Such is the basis for their “endangerment finding” under the Clean Air Act, which now triggers the legal requirement to impose the first-ever government regulations of aircraft emissions and extend the EPA’s reach into yet another segment of the U.S. economy.

The announced plan to reduce aircraft emissions takes place as President Obama seeks to bolster his climate change legacy with new policies in the last months of his administration. Airline regulation would be among the final pieces of his contentious and sweeping second-term climate agenda, which included his role in last year’s Paris agreement to commit some 200 countries to act to reduce carbon emissions.

Hmmmm. More likely the new rules will require the airlines to somehow mask the chem trails they leave visible as they fly overhead and spray us with mind numbing chemicals. Right? If they were in fact unloading said chemicals, the results would be that there are a lot of people affected. Witness all the hildabama supporters. Hmmm. Maybe I'm on to something here. LOL! Kinda /S

P.S. I forgot to mention the settled science part.

I remember the National Geographic articles and drawings from 40 years ago which illustrated all the chemicals being spewed into the pristine atmosphere by those nasty airlines - and the EPA never forgot about it!!

This will lead to a lot fewer and much more expensive flights being available.

No doubt Congress will then brag about solving the bottlenecks at airports caused by their stupid TSA make work program.

I’m sure the hefty fines the airlines will pay in order to stay in business, known as Federal Government Shake Downs, will keep the planet from warming. The Founders would be so disgusted that we sheep put up with this extortion by unelected hacks. I pray that every agency not in place in 1950 will be abolished by President Trump, because they are killing our country.

I’m old enough to remember when the sole power of the EPA was to create Woodsy the Owl commercials.

An important target is popular mobility. Controllers are disconcerted by the thought that their subjects can just change location without notice or permission.

If President Trump doesn't accomplish at least that then he will have accomplished nothing in the medium to long term.

People think that electric cars are Zero Emissions, so lets convert airliners into a gliders so they can be Zero Emissions too. Of course, the tow aircraft is going to be burning fuel like crazy, but that’s activism for another day. For now, lets celebrate the Zero Emission airliner. Yay for Progressivism! /s

too funny.

Well, in about 5 months, the EPA can go #### itself and the people working there can look for new REAL jobs.
