I don’t need air conditioning, and neither do you
Washington Post ^ | August 18, 2016 | Karen Heller

It’s time to come out of the closet. Or, more precisely, the sweat lodge.

My family lives without air conditioning, except for one antique, semi-comatose window unit that “cools” the bedroom to approximately the same temperature as Dallas at dusk.

Our house in Philadelphia was built in the 1920s, when people were tough and resourceful. For most of the year, the house is cool and pleasant, as long as there isn’t a mash-up of continuously scorching days and epic humidity, when the air is putrid, stagnant and, if it were a color, would definitely be mustard.

Poor unfortunate dear was born in the wrong millennium.

Guess she’ll have to go to a shrink.

I take it this stoopid leftist b!tch doesn't use air conditioning for her fridge.....

Life was so much easier and safer before refrigeration. /s

These lowlife leftist mongrels are as obsessed about a/c as the Islamo nutters are about airplanes.

The moron thinks she can dictate her beliefs and force others to live without things they can afford. Summer in Pocatello pushes temps from 42F at night to 103F (high) in the late afternoon. Winter ranges from -21F to +40F. I'll run my air conditioner as I see fit to stay comfortable. Ditto for my 9 dogs whose coats are suitable for Winter.

I bristle anytime another person thinks they can dictate what I need. It's my money. It's my call.

She needs to move down South and say that after experiencing our summers.

If the leftists can do without air conditioning, they can surely do without abortion clinics, transgendered restrooms, electric cars and organic food.

We lived right on the Gulf of Mexico in Galveston for a couple of years. Ran the air conditioner and dehumidifier 12 months a year regardless of the outside temp. Nothing in the house or on your body was dry unless you did and mold was on everything.

Mine is a farmhouse that was built in the early 50’s and it’s that way. Open the windows and the doors on both ends and there is a good flow of air through the whole house. The kitchen has a bar that was an archway into the dining room and the dining room has a bar/archway into the living room and there is a good flow of air. Being over 60 years old the rooms all have large windows twice the size of what they put in new houses that allow good ventilation. Still, by late July when it’s over 100 most days and the humidity is 90% or above it’s still miserable.

This anti-air conditioning author-ette is probably used to being in heat from lusting after hot-stuff Algore for a couple of decades. I hear that the lure of his global warming religion is a powerful aphrodisiac.

Her last name is prophetic...she'll be very comfortable with her new location after she shuffles off this mortal coil from an acute attack of heat stroke.

Actually I grew up in Texas without air conditioning... during the 50s. Yes, I am quite old.... I vaguely remember some sort of swamp cooler in Houston where we lived for three years. It probably filled the air with mold. Then in the mid-60s in Ft. Worth I think we may have had central air but I doubt it was pushed up very high. Then we moved to Kansas and there was one wall unit (built in) that was supposed to cool the entire house. Temp extremes don’t bother me as much as some people. I don’t much care for direct sun and I do like my air conditioning to sleep under but when we go RVing we never run the airconditioning. OK, maybe once or twice.

Bring that damn yankee down here to Alice, Texas. I think she will think she died and and went to hell with a 107 temp with a 131 heat index.

I’m 70 and lived back in the late 40’s and 50’s with no A/C down here and even then life was miserable...even though we were used to it.

Come on! Bring it on. I will pay for a ticket down here so you can stay in my back yard in a tent for the rest of the summer.

After that, then tell us how we don’t need A/C!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Karen:

Come on down to FL. You will love it here during the summer.

Oh wait, you’re a flaming Marxist environment nazi. Never mind, stay where you are.

I grew up in a desert that regally hit 110-120 during the summer. My parents couldn’t afford AC. At about 110 you start taking cold water baths and using wet cloths to increase cooling. At 115 you give up the idea of trying any activities as the sweat rolls off you. At 120 you lie in front of floor fans immobile just waiting for the sun to go down. Needless to say, I love AC. Best thing human civilization invented.

All this electricity, running water, and air conditioning thing is just a passing fad anyway.

Just think of the chaos when the electricity stops when TSHTF. All those people suffering without air conditioning in hot areas of the country. No impact here, never had air conditioning and don't need it (SF Bay area). Running water is another matter... (I have fresh water lakes and streams nearby).

>>I don’t need air conditioning, and neither do you<<

In 2015 over 2,500 Indians DIED from a heat wave: https://www.theweathernetwork.com/uk/news/articles/indias-deadly-heatwave-nears-end-as-monsoon-arrives/52420/

Obviously they didn’t need A/C.

This libtard obviously hates poor people and wants them to die.
