I've been "hearing about" this for several months now. Supposedly the demographics in Georgia have been changing big time over the past 10-20 years. More illegals... an influx of Californians moving to GA.

God help us if this is true... we don't need to lose anymore Red states.

You dont hold ralleys in places you already have locked down... IMO

I agree. Trump shouldn't waste precious time in Mississippi. There are plenty of battleground states he should be concentrating on...

Exactly. The echo chamber is beginning to resemble 2012. It’s not a good strategy to be overconfident to begin with.

Look around. This isn't the same country that elected Reagan 36 years ago and delivered landslide Republican blowouts in the two elections following. It's a lot different. It looks different. It sounds different. It speaks a different language. It has different values.

Every year more and more states are at risk. Short of a massive, fundamental course correction, it's only a matter of time before Georgia, Texas, and other conservative stalwarts follow Colorado and Virginia from red to purple to blue.

This is exactly what worries me each and every day. We're getting awfully close to that tipping point where the 'RATs will have a solid, impenetrable majority.

Lots of gays in Atlanta. Half million blacks moved to Ga. In the 1990s. Lots of Chicago people in metro Atlanta. Also lots of Jews in Georgia. Lots of diversity. Oh yes, lots of immigrants from Mexico.

And recently many Californians have discovered the lower cost of living in Georgia and are relocating there. One small example: Two of my husband's relatives moved from CA to GA a couple of years ago. And they are not conservatives nor Republicans...

Are the demographics shifting there? Black voters (can’t imagine a larger turnout for Hillary than Obama) or Hispanics a bigger factor this year?

The last election really opened my eyes around here. Looking at the last map you can see just how much of Ga, esp middle Ga went blue... lot of farmers and corporations hiring illegals down there, the usual suspects in the metro area...

Mr Pebbles, Ah now I see why you posted a B/S poll. You are not a fan of Trump and are out on here to discourage others.
Why not be honest about where you really stand when you post, instead of getting sly digs in and posting utter liberal crap?

Are you an establishment troll who is paid or just a bitter person, or a liberal?

Either way you are trolling.

2016 Georgia Primary | Total Votes

Republican 1,292,601
Democrat 761,218

That Fox poll must be accurate because shortly after the primary,

at least 500,000 Georgia Republicans were killed by a big tornado.

whatever dude..I could care less what your meaningless projections are. You have no clue of my voting record, I will vote Trump, my wife will vote Trump as will all my friends, but if you want to believe in rainbows and unicorns be my guest. Enjoy your day.

If there’s been a change, we should be aware and not bury our heads about it, of course.

However, I look at the 2012 map and see mostly red. What’s changed between then and now other than a successful transformation of America for the worse?

Yes, middle GA is blue, as well as the metro Atlanta counties (expected). But there are only a few that are the dark blue.

On the other hand, a majority of the red counties are strongly red.

Just looking at the map that way doesnt tell the whole story. Look at Oregon, if you look at just the map, only 9 out of 35 counties are blue... but the rub is, thats where all the people are because Oregon votes solid blue.

For the record I dont think Ga will go blue... but I will be that its fairly close...

yet you post a B/S poll and think it is the truth while getting your sly digs in about Trump.

If you think GA is a swing state then it is you who thinks unicorns are real.

I understand about the saturation of dems being packed into a few counties.

I’m with you and don’t expect Georgia to go blue. I also don’t expect Oregon to go red.

The saturation of dems and low-infos will always be and dems will always take advantage.

I’m hoping the disastrous 8 years will have an effect on all those who stayed home last time. In my county alone, there were around 1,000 Republicans who either stayed home — or they voted for Zero or 3rd Party — when comparing the totals of 2008 and 2012.

This was likely repeated across the country, but I’m hoping and praying that the Republicans consider the cost and show up for Trump.

It does seem like conservatives are more prone than dems to expect the perfect candidate, though, and will stay home otherwise.

Dems don’t do that.

That’s not true. We all said the same thing in 2008 and 2012 and tried to fool ourselves that the “polls were being manipulated, democrats over-sampled, etc.”. In the end, the polls proved to be largely correct.

I think the GOPe and all the moderate BS is doing tremendous damage to Trump. All indies see is the “GOP” backing away from their own candidate!! how does that look to them???

I’m not talking about people here on FR, im talking the real world...

its tough enough to win when everyone is on your side... nigh impossible when your own party is so divided..

“GOPe and all the moderate BS is doing tremendous damage to Trump”

They want the damage. They’ve convinced themselves Trump is the worst of the two, and all they have to do is put up with 4 years of hellery and then they can have their guy.

They’re too full of themselves to realize that with 4 years of hellery, we’re pretty much done.
