Violence and protests erupted in Milwaukee overnight after a man was fatally shot by police during a foot chase.
Police said the victim, 23, was armed with a handgun and shot dead by an officer after fleeing a traffic stop on Milwaukee's north side Saturday afternoon.
Hours later angry crowds took to the streets, smashing a police car and setting fire to another. One officer was injured by a flying brick; a gas station and auto-parts store were set alight. Police said gunshots were heard.
Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett pleaded for calm at an early morning news conference, asking residents to "do everything" to help restore order.
"If you love your son, if you love your daughter, text them, call them, pull them by the ears and get 'em home," he said.

It's fighting fire with fire time. If this crisis is not allowed to go to waste, you better believe he can rack up votes from it, big time. It has been done before. Big time.
Young folks might not know this, and some of us older ones may have forgotten, but from about 1965 until 1972 there was constant urban demonstrations, strife and rioting. That's about 7 years in a row and all of it owned by the LBJ led (D)emocrat party in the White House, Congress and in all the big cities. It was front and center in everybody's consciousness, capped off by riots at the two Chicago DNC conventions on live TV in 1968 and 1972.
The image was clear to normal citizens across America - the (D)emocrat party was tied to rioting and urban strife, not to mention the Black Panthers, Weathermen, SDS and every other anti-American outfit, and that party were powerless to do anything about it.
Richard Nixon capitalized on this as the undisputed law and order candidate against the anti-war candidate McGovern who was even cited by other (D)ummycrats like Humphrey as too liberal. I remember Nixon surrogates saying that McGovern would lead to even more rioting because he was a hapless cowardly liberal.
Remember the context here was that the wimpy McGovern-Kennedy-Shriver wing was in conflict with the relatively courageous Mayor Daley at the convention, and decried the Mayor's tactics of strong pushback and teamsters beating the rioters. Yep, the libs were stupid already and payed the price.
Nixon promptly got supported by union members and middle America as a relief from the McGovernesque pandering to these savages, and received the 3rd largest popular vote landslide to this day. The strategy is clear, tie all the riots around Hillary's neck and drown her with it.
Purists on our side might disagree with this but it's too damn bad. Trump needs to adopt their tactics, let no crisis go to waste and use inner city riots as well as all terrorist attacks to destroy $hillary and her war machine. There is no more time for Queensberry rules with that Supreme Court seat sitting there. It is now or never.

No doubt about it. There would be wall to wall 24-7 coverage on all the networks with the talking heads asking if this is somehow the result of 'Trump's rhetoric'.
The lopsided coverage of situations like this is beyond infuriating, but this is what we are up against.
If the ferals and their political masters want the cities, they can have their urban $hitholes. At this point, we can only hope to keep them contained at best.
