Republican Internal Poll Shows Clinton Beating Trump In Eastern Kansas (GOP still leads statewide)
Topeka Capitol Journal ^ | 8/11/16

A Republican internal poll released Thursday shows Democrat Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump in the state’s 3rd Congressional District, a stretch of eastern Kansas that Mitt Romney won easily four years ago.

Trump trails Clinton by a 44 percent to 38 percent margin, according to the survey of 400 likely general election voters polled over the weekend. Romney, a Republican, won the district by 10 points in 2012.

The Public Opinion Strategies poll was released by the re-election campaign of U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder, a Republican who has represented the 3rd District since 2011. The suburban, comparatively affluent district is the last Kansas district to be represented by a Democrat. Dennis Moore represented the 3rd District before Yoder.

A statewide SurveyUSA poll released Tuesday showed Trump’s support at 44 percent in Kansas to Clinton’s 39 percent. A mid-July poll, also by SurveyUSA, showed Trump at 47 percent statewide and Clinton at 36 percent.

No, not all candidates run on increasing national debt to pay for increased spending. Mostly just Democrats do. That's why Trump should quit saying stupid crap that alienates the GOP base (unless he wants to lose big which would have to be the case in order for his to lose KS-3).

On the bright side, maybe Trump will do a rally in Kansas, for me to go to.

GOP candidates run on the same nonsense.

Now, tell me exactly where he made that comment and the context it was made in.

Tell me he is going to lose in KS.

You sound like another ex-Cruz supporter, who is clinging to any hope that Trump will lose.

He made it yesterday, and no, GOP candidates do not normally run on increasing the national debt to fund increased spending. As for the context, no context is acceptable. $20 trillion in debt to be passed on to future generations is immoral and we should be cutting spending and trying to cut the debt not increasing spending and adding to the debt. Good grief.

Nah, I don’t think Trump will lose Kansas, but he should be winning it big.

Remember, KS elected Kathleen Sebelius twice. But I really doubt Hillary has a chance. People here can’t stand her. Problem is, they don’t like Trump, or trust him much, either. He only got 21% of the vote here in the GOP primary.

well KS had better look at the reality we are all facing....
its either Trump or Hilliary
and Hilliary’s already sold out, whereas Trump probably won’t sell us out

beyond that basic statement, I can just HOPE Kansans start liking Trump more.... he IS very popular elsewhere, many many people like him

and he can talk straight, like many Kansans can. Hilliary is allergic to telling the truth...about, it seems, just about anything

Not quite. The confused wing of the GOP is anchored in the beige suburbs of Johnson County Kansas. The suburban elite think their political correctness makes the ultimate statement about their true self worth. And they are cowed by the media, can’t think for themselves and have more money than brains. Johnson County, Wyandotte County, KS, are the gravitational center of eastern kansas and both counties are chock full of bleeding heart GOP lefties and social justice warriors.

Kansas is still in love with Ted Cruz and are mad that Trump ran him over. They were/are suckers for the sleazy weasel.

How pathetic, they have to show part of the state where she is winning to draw some kind of positive news for her.

We’re witnessing an all-time all out media assault on a presidential candidate and this is the best they can muster? The Kansas media is very corrupt. You can bet they will do their part to help get hilLIARy elected. This is just part of that narrative.

Please, my fellow Kansans, do not trust our media when it comes to local or national politics.

I remember you were a big Cruz supporter here. Your posts still reflect that. Haven't you come to realize just how terrible a candidate Cruz was?

You can stop with the anti-Trump drivel. Our presidential caucuses were a joke with very little turnout. The four hour window did not allow many Kansans to be able to get to the caucuses to vote.

I know quite a few Trump supporters that were not able to make it because of the very limited hours. Hopefully we go back to all day primaries, which I am helping to push for.

The only poll that I could find before our caucuses had Trump up a couple of points in Kansas so you claiming Kansans don't like him or trust him is just more anti-Trump drivel from you because our caucuses turned out to be such a joke.

Nope.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas%27s_3rd_congressional_district

“The racial makeup of the district is 82.70% White, 8.88% Black or African American, 2.60% Asian, 0.70% Native American, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 3.09% from other races, and 1.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.79% of the population.”
