Trump warns GOP he could stop fundraising

Donald Trump on Thursday issued a threat to stop fundraising for the Republican Party after a report emerged that party officials could focus resources on down-ballot candidates.

"I mean, if it is true, that's OK too because all I have to do is stop funding the Republican Party," Trump said on Fox News's "The O'Reilly Factor" when asked about the Republican National Committee potentially diverting funds away from the presidential race.

"I'm the one raising the money for them," he continued. "In fact, right now I'm in Orlando, I'm going to a fundraiser for the Republican Party. If they want to do that they can save me a lot of time and a lot of energy."

TO THE RNC OFFICIAL READING THIS POST: I will enthusiastically DOUBLE my donations to Trump if I know that those funds WILL NOT go to worthless "down-ballot" candidates who run as conservatives then vote as liberals!

So go ahead. Carry out your threat. Make our day!

They haven't understood that he knows how to make deals. At the moment Trump is the one pulling in money. Some of that is done in conjunction with the party. I read somewhere that Hillary gets 70% of what she pulls in together with the DNC whereas Trump only gets 50% of donations made to Trump/GOP. That was probably an old deal before Trump became the candidate. So if the GOP cuts those 50% Trump will be free to collect much more holding his own fundraisers. Of course the top people in the GOP know this, and the juniors while be told to mind their own business.

I agree, Trump is the one with the MOJO to draw 12,000 and turn away 5,000 more because the venues are not big enough.

The losers who voted like Ryan, and went after the Tea Party who handed the GOP both houses of congress in off year elections are showing up for outsider Trump.

Trump it the one dragging them across the finish line.
Trump beat 16 others, and spent the least money.

To the RNC.

I bought a whole bunch of stuff in a Trump office recently. A large amount.

I have not donated to the GOP in SEVERAL DECADES.

You are really clueless. Trump is for America. AMERICA.

You clueless dolts have sold out America, to China.

Get with it.

You idiots have ruined, a once-great political party.

If Trump loses, I hope he take the GOP down with him and invests in new media, and new political alternatives. He can still lead a revolution even if he never becomes President, much like a certain Nigel Farage did here. (though I sincerely hope and pray he wins).

In the UK we had the same problem with the so called conservatives - so we voted for another party, UKIP - and guess what, we got our referendum because of that, and we got our freedom. (though admittedly still and ongoing negotiation). I’m actually surprised this hasn’t happened yet.

And to the cretinous morons that think the GOP is all they have got - ask yourselves what they have done for you in the last nearly 30 years since Reagan. They are complicit in the assault of nearly every pillar of decent civilized society from education, to security to the economy. You might have to endure many years of hurt to reaching the point you need to reach.

All the power being in the hands of a uni-party is terrible for democracy, in fact its no democracy at all. Its a sham, a facade being played out before your eyes, paid for and owned by big money across the board, and facilitated by a corrupted, complicit news media. Trump certainly fought his way through a storm to get the nomination, but the onslaught now, from even those that proclaim to be conservatives is a new level of intimidation and propaganda. If he is going to lose because of the corruption, he needs to go down swinging like never before and even when he’s on the ground, to carry on kicking these disgusting cockroaches.

I personally wouldn’t give one dollar to these treasonous pieces of dog crap like Paul Ryan et al. And anyone that does may aswell go and give that money to the DNC - You are funding your own demise. It is that simple, I can’t make it any clearer than that. If people actually made a stand, and hit them where it hurts - their bank accounts, there may be more hope than there is now.

It's just weird and delusional. I'm assuming that Republicans who aren't enthusiastically supporting Trump are having a lot of difficulty raising money for their campaigns. And what are they doing? Why, they're blaming Trump instead of themselves.

I don't understand why any money which comes in from ads using Trump go to people who don't support him.

Solution for me....no money to the campaign that might be redirected. The best way to do that might be to purchase campaign gear from the Trump website.

When is Trump gonna dump the pretense that the GOP is anything but a false friend of convenience?

After he wins the presidency, needs to start building a new America First party.

Enough of the kabuki theater already.

As if the point of the article isn't obvious. And "threat?" Give me a break. Trump was presented with a story that 70 Republicans were lobbying the RNC to stop supporting Trump. Trump was asked what his reaction would be, if the RNC did cut off its resources. He laughed. For obvious reasons. It's a two way street. If the RNC divorces him, then Trump is on his own, and the RNC is on its own.

Reporters, making a living reporting obvious connections.

“After he wins the presidency, needs to start building a new America First party.”

Understanding how he does business, do you not think this is already on the agenda? Right now it is four to one. Democrats, media, crony capitalists and GOPe are all more than desperate to keep their hold on the American goodies. They know that Trump will clean house in a very big way, because he has already said he would, especially since the gloss is off the facade.

He is playing 3D chess while they can’t even find the checkers board.

I find it particularly ironic that all those RINOs whining on the last go around how the party should coalesce around Romney are the ones running from Trump.

Bingo. You assess the situation splendidly.

Long term Republican since Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater. I stopped contributing to the RNC about 4 years ago. I only contribute directly to Trump and conservative Republican candidates and advise other people to do likewise.
