McConnell: GOP chances to keep Senate are 'very dicey'

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday that GOP prospects for keeping control of the Senate after the November elections are “very dicey,” sounding an alarm amid mounting Republican concerns about presidential nominee Donald Trump. […]

Twenty-four GOP-held seats are on the ballot this year, compared with 10 for Democrats, he noted. McConnell was promoted to majority leader two years ago when a Republican surge wrested Senate control from Democrats.

McConnell did not mention Trump as being a drag on Republican down-ballot races, but he chided Trump’s campaign tactics. The Kentucky senator said he hopes Trump “settles down and follows the script.” …

Trump’s number one priority has to be to get himself elected President. Without that, none of the rest of it matters. If he can help to keep the Senate majority, then great, but the senate GOP have got to want to help themselves first. Instead of embracing one of the biggest ‘movement’ candidates their party has ever had, too many of them want to distance themselves from him.

The Senate GOP is at risk of losing their majority for precisely the opposite reason McConnell offers. Namely, too many refuse to reach out and grab Trump’s coattails.

He needs to talk issues and character. Thet’s what will win the election for him. Don’t give them the bullets to shoot at you.

Do you really think the Republican skunks in Congress will support Trump’s agenda? They will fight him tooth and nail, more so than the democrats.

McCain, Graham, Flake, Collins, Kirk? They are no better than democrats.

I am voting for Trump and may skip the rest of the ballot choices in protest of the GOPe’s mishandling the reigns of the house and senate.

They are hopeless dweebs.

Kirk of Illinois
Johnson of Wisconsin
are definitely gonna flip. They were both Democrats anyways. Kelly Ayotte in NH may flip too. I actually hope it goes Democrat because Hassan is against the Syrian refugees as opposed to NeoCon Open Borders Ayotte. I believe we will keep Ohio and Penn. We might pickup Nevada but Heck is Open Borders Rino.

Jeff Sessionsnis the only Conservative. Randnis a Libertarian. Cruz and Mike Lee are NeoCons, Pro TPP, and want to throw the election and Supreme Court to Hillary. Say goodbye to 2nd Amendment. Welcome mandatory gun registration and then confiscation. They will rule against concealed carry and then rule only licensed hunters who hunt for a living for the government can own a firearm. Its coming

The RINO idiots really think they will keep their seats, by doubling down as openly proud and outed RINO’s, and proudly backstabbing Trump

For the first time, I will vote for a few Democrats on the national ticket.

Against Rubio for starters.

The last ballot box election is at hand...

Blame Trump, huh RINO Mitch? He shined the spotlight on what a bunch of weasels you all are. He’s not the problem Mitch. It’s you and your hapless leadership and kowtowing to your globalist masters that has brought us misery to our country.

“Do you really think the Republican skunks in Congress will support Trump’s agenda? “

Do you really think that giving the Dims the majority will make them support support Trump's agenda?

Trump needs a majority of the Senate to approve any SC justice he will nominate. Thinking a Dim Senate is going to approve Trump’s nominee is stupid beyond description.

I really can't tell anymore if many of the posters here are idiots or just flat out insane...

“Twenty-four GOP-held seats are on the ballot this year, compared with 10 for Democrats, he noted.

...

That’s the real reason for any concern. The GOP should be thankful it has a winner and fighter running for president for a change.”

It’s for sure a tough deal of races this year but Trump isn’t helping. In pretty much every state poll he’s running behind the Republican running for senate. You hope the presidential candidate can give you a little push. Instead, he’s lagging behind the senate candidate pretty much everywhere.

Here are the polls from yesterday and today where they same poll had results from their state for President and Senate.

Florida (Fox Poll)
Trump -1
Rubio +2

South Carolina (PPP poll)
Trump +2
Scott + 17

Ohio (NBC/ WSJ Poll)
Trump -5
Portman + 5

Pennylvania (NBC / WSJ)
Trump -11
Toomey -4

Wisconsin (Marquette)
Trump -15
Johnson -11

If the GOP wasn’t constantly undermining Trump and saying they are not voting for him or voting Hillary- Trumps numbers would improve. It would be great if they endorsed too. Also it would help if the GOP Senators actually started attacking Clinton. They don’t question her failing health, Clinton staying in the 08 Dem primary because Obama might get assassinated, Mateens dad at Hillary rally, attack Hillary for saying she short circuited or is going to raise taxes.... And the list goes on. They do nothing to help

GOP chances wouldn’t be so “dicey” if they would have accomplished something. McConnell has to go.

Yeah. I'd like Senator McConnell explain to me how the hell the GOPe is different than the Democrats? Every big thing that Obama wanted got funded to the tune of an additional $10 Trillion added to the National Debt. And WTF do we have to show for it? A Panama Canal? A Hover Dam? A new Transcontinental Highway? All we got was a bunch of illegal children and Syrian Refugees. ADD INSULT TO INJURY, THE MILITARY HAS BEEN GUTTED!

The Republican Party either shuts up or gets run over by the voters.
