Baltimore’s top law enforcement and political leaders on Wednesday vowed a sweeping overhaul of the city Police Department after a searing rebuke of the agency’s practices, which the Justice Department said regularly discriminated against black residents in poor communities.
Officials promised improved community relations, a purge of race-based policing and a modernized department that better trains officers and holds them accountable. But they warned that reforming an agency entrenched in a culture of unconstitutional policing would be a slow process and could cost millions of dollars.
“Police reform won’t happen overnight or by chance,” Vanita Gupta, principal deputy assistant attorney general, said at a news conference officially unveiling the Justice Department’s 163-page report. “It’s going to take time, and it’s going to require a focused and sustained effort.”

Policing anything in Baltimore is an Orwellian nightmare. A good part of the city is criminally out of control, period.
This is a fact that the black run and ruined Mayor/City Council/Md. DA refuse to acknowledge because it would be an open admission of their absolute failure to solve anything.
Now, I do not want the police of manufacture crimes in order to stop groups of people. I want them to have enough “cause” to justify it so this is one area where retraining is needed legitimately.
But prohibiting race-based policing policies is like prohibiting DOJ going after the Mafia because it is race-based, i.e. Italian oriented.
Remember, DOJ’s Civil Rights Division is NOT. It is a Selective Civil Rights Division and if you’re white, forget it unless you are a Democrat/leftist/Marxist or Hillary supporter who are a “protected class” under Obama and Queen Cankles (whether she is in office or not).
Crime committed by blacks in black areas sanely should eliminate checking out the Amish. Well, common sense would establish that but we are not dealing with common sense in some parts of DOJ and with the governing bodies in Baltimore or even the leftist led State Assembly (Miller, Busch, etc).
The new police chief of Baltimore (I think he is white), is an asskissing PC CP (Chief of Police).
Well, Baltimore is going to get less active policing, more retirements and officers quitting for safer pastures, more black crime, more blacks killing blacks, no real economic investment in the war-zone areas, and more economic decline.
As a former Baltimorean who left when the getting was smart, I say, “You got what you wanted via the elections”.
Now you have to live and die by it.
I feel really badly for the decent, honest working blacks who are too often trapped in the urban ghettoes with “No Exit”. I used to know some of them - good people, often the elderly or disabled/sick. They have no place to go and no one in the city leadership cares despite the crocodile tears they shed (More like the “crock” tears they shed.
And part of the problem is that for those who are able to get out of the inner city to live out Liberty Road, lower/middle Reisterstown, and middle/lower Park Heights, find that black crime is following them like a plague.
I know NW Baltimore very well and I can see the signs of rot in my old haunts, places where you could walk safely at night but today you’d better be heavily armed out there.
The Democrats, just like Obama, when they look over the economic, criminal, and societal disasters they have created can, with a big smile, say “Yes we did”.
When they tore down the magnificent old Memorial Stadium (across the street from my old high school), they put up new housing. Okay. Something positive but right at the edge of the Waverly crime zone.
Perhaps they should have put up a gigantic tombstone for Baltimore which said, “We once were a contender for a champion city”.
Good question! Where is the Republican Governor of Maryland?
Baltimore is at the point of collapse under negro,
Democrat Party administration. Entire areas of the city
have been abandoned. It's not as bad as Detroit, but it's
approaching the Detroit situation quickly.
There may still be time to save the city, but only if the
entire corrupt rotten city government is removed. I believe
that even the venerable Johns Hopkins University
and hospital are slowly removing themselves
from Baltimore based on the number of suburban
sites and affiliations they have created
for themselves. They see the handwriting on the wall too.
Best move if you’re a police officer in Baltimore is get in your car, lock the doors and don’t get out until your shift ends. Drive back to the station and report all is well, the natives have committed no crimes and the city is now paradise on earth.
After being shutout in their attempt to convict the police officers the Baltimore regime strikes back!
Thats all Baltimore is is black residents in poor communities.
